Thomas Paine’s words In ‘Common Sense’ would ring as true today as they did in 1776. He warned of a lack of masculinity, a short-sighted and selfish attitude that disregards its effects on future generations. Paine spoke to people being content with conditions that “will last my time”.
To some degree, email and ‘memes’ have replaced the pamphlet of Paine’s day with the internet and media driven world that we live in. We can also use the same ideas on billboards, t-shirts and bumper stickers. The latter can result in damage to your vehicle from nasty opposition forces. Please check out (and support) https://patriotpost.us/memes
Andy in AL, I agree that pamphlets can be replaced. But what is lacking today is critical thinking skills of writers and readers. I see it in our homeschoolers but seldom in our mass indoctrinated government-schooled.
We are a people of sound bites and lightly read. I recently purchased Common Sense (Amazon hardcover only $6!). This was written for the common man back then. Today very few adults would get past the first page. Too difficult to comprehend. Sad but true.
