  1. Okay I’ll be the turd in the Punchbowl. While very happy that a lot of people in the survival movement have a strong faith in the Bible those of us who have seen too much ( or at least myself ) have a hard time wrapping our heads around ” the good book ”

Not that I don’t believe in a creator. Obviously someone or something made us and the things around us. It’s this entity that I pray to going out the door every day and thanking at night.

Organized or man-made religion I find to be dubious. There’s an army of third world salvages that think it’s completely okay to kill in the name of their religion.

And it’s starting to become obvious another group of very influential people has infiltrated the media / finance and thinks exploiting others is okay because of their religion or victim status.

Even so-called well-meaning Christians have facilitated the importation of low IQ Invaders. History has taught us these people will not assimilate and only expand the ghettos.

Again have no axe to grind with individuals I meet and get along with. However would not leave my children alone with someone just because they were a man of the cloth.

Too many of my irish-catholic friends were abused as children and have never been the same.

    1. Just start. Don’t be put off by the actions of men (or women). If one is a pedophile, he doesn’t represent Christ or God, that person represents the great Satan. Pick up a good bible, a good concordance, and maybe a good set of commentaries. JWR recommended one in his recommendations of the week, a few days ago. Maybe more than one bible, certainly a KJV and maybe a modern english version, I wouldn’t have any idea which one. Maybe someone could recommend one.

God isn’t about a specific church or a specific sect. God is about faith. I’ve walked out of more than one church because of the actions and words of the people or the actions and words of the preacher. I even walked out in the middle of a sermon once. If you know what you are hearing is wrong, just act. Even if you never set foot inside a church, read and let God and Christ be your guide, you really can’t go wrong with that.

This from a guy that hasn’t set food inside of a church in decades, except for weddings and funerals.

    2. SirLancelot, this isn’t the place to debate the existence of God or the failure of organized religion. Here’s what I propose: there is a God, he does in fact occasionally communicate with people, he can communicate with you and will if you seek him out (he made a promise to that effect).

In an impossible-to-predict situation that rapidly changes we can try to keep up but the likelihood of our failure is pretty high. We’re not giving up the idea of watching for trends and patterns and warnings, but we recognize that by the time we realize what’s happening it – could – be too late. Our only hope – only – out of that quandry is to get God’s help. Do you see any other possibility? And if you wait until the S is already hitting the F to reach out to God then you’re fooling yourself.

And if you don’t want to do it then that’s your choice and you’re free to do the best you can do. But there are tens of thousands of us who read SB who know that God has guided us, and no one’s going to talk us out of what we simply know is true. You’ll never know for yourself if you don’t seek Him out! 🙂

  2. One of the most ‘liberating’ moments for this constitutionalist was accepting that all republics fall and Lincoln’s republic is nearing its end. Its time to stop wringing my hands and just accept reality. After that I’ve found studying the fall and creation of republics very helpful. Something will fill its void.

I believe hope lies in new free and independent republics with new borders. Imagine regaining liberty again. Say what you want about South Carolina and secession but imagine how they felt when they penned, “the State of South Carolina has resumed her position among the nations of the world, as a separate and independent State”. Have you ever felt this sense of liberty?

    1. LIncoln’s Republic. That is a bad joke. He destroyed the framers republic in favor of the all powerful leviathan state. The totalitarian/authoritarian state we live under today started with the acts of “father Abraham” (what the neocons lovingly call Lincoln.

  3. I personally take comfort in the doctrines and teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with respect to the coming of the Lord. Both Joseph Smith and Brigham Young taught that in the last days, the Constitution of the United States would “hang by a thread” by the attacks of those seeking to tear it down, but would be restored, and Harold B. Lee taught that the American Flag would still be flying over this nation when Christ comes again. On a side note, I’ve recently read that life is beginning to return to the Dead Sea, which is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.

  4. “Lincoln’s Republic” Lincoln was an unconstitutional jerk who laid the foundation for the overbearing federal government we have today. Before you call me a slavery loving racist please educate yourself. Lincoln didn’t care about slavery until he thought the issue benefitted him. He called for all blacks to be returned to Africa. He widely stated he didn’t care about slavery, only keeping the US together. He ordered the attack on the south. His emancipation proclamation didn’t free all slaves, only the ones in the southern states that had seceded. The north still had slaves. Grant owned slaves, Lee didn’t. I hate to see everyone hold Lincoln up like some hero he wasn’t. His actions largely got us to the mess we have today. Slavery was already ending and would have ended without a civil war and the Constitutional abuses we still live with today.

  5. I also believe our faith is a personal thing. I derive great strength from my daily prayers and study of the scriptures. Our faith should be in God and not in a church. But uniting with those of a similar faith and belief also strengthens me. And this is where church worship and fellowship come in. We are ultimately responsible for our own faith and spirituality, but sharing and caring with like minded believers strengthens me.

I too feel that the country and the world are accelerating towards the great crowning event of the world created by God. Those with spiritual sensitivity will see the signs, those who are not spiritually sensitive will be caught unaware, or realize what IS , happening, as it happens. Too little, too late.

  6. One of the things I really like about SurvivalBlog is the quality and the nature of the Christians who frequent and comment on this site. Even the Mormons are really old school Christians, something I had not realized until I had been on this site for some time.

God is very libertarian. Throughout the bible, it’s God first, then the individual. I’m no thoughtful Christian scholar, I certainly don’t read enough. But I know the Truth when I read it. The bible isn’t perfect, no product of man ever is, even a product that is “divinely inspired” as the bible surely is. But it’s the best we have, and it is as close as we get to the true word of God, so it is worth having faith in.

  7. Read Revelations and you will find out how mankind’s rule ends.
It’s not a mystery and you are blessed just by reading it.

Just an FYI, all your preps, remote bug out location, will not save you.

Only Jesus Christ the Creator of all things and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords will reign.

  8. When I did a little research I quit using King James. After all, he was an earthly king. Instead I use the Geneva Bible, which predates the KJV. King James commanded all Geneva Bibles to be burned. He hated the notes by translators, among other things and he disrepected all those translators and preachers martyred by the English crown in the century prior to his reign.

The pilgrims brought the Geneva Bible with them.

My pastor is a member of the Black Robe Regiment. We stand firmly against the antichrist false religion known as Statism and the God-haters who worship globalism.

  9. “I don’t think that “Joe Prepper” is prepared for a worst-case scenario like this.”

joe prepper is ready for a grid-down collapse where he can run around with his big bad rifle, not a grid-up hostile coup that has more guns than he does.

“So why is the mood among my friends and fellow preppers so grim?”

because our culture and country have been so easily and efficiently subverted and poisoned.

“What we need is a right relationship with God, one of listening”

well … my experience has been that if you start listening for voices, you start hearing them ….

  10. read the “Last Stand” by William Weber
interesting concept of where the United States can go…

    Spoiler alert
in any collapse – I expect Russia/China/North Korea to be on our shores in a couple weeks…. too ripe to avoid picking….

    1. “in any collapse – I expect Russia/China/North Korea to be on our shores in a couple weeks”

of course. in fact (the rulers of) seattle, san francisco, and los angeles will actively call on the chinese for troops and money to help sustain their (power over their privately-owned) welfare city-states. china will immediately park an army group and air wing in each urban area, and then begin expanding. heh – they won’t find a rifle behind every blade of grass, they’ll find a welfare-dependent.

      not to mention mexico ….

  11. Just curious, how many of you are preping for the Great Tribulation of Revelations? Also, if you believe in the Rapture do you think it will happen before, during, or after the Tribulation?

  12. The wrath of God is for unbelievers in the End Times, not believers.
Scripture is clear belivers are not judged.
So believers are removed from this world.
And the unbelievers are going to find hell on Earth with the wrath of God poured out in a series of judgements

We will not be able to hide.
And the Book of Revelations shows exactly how it plays out.

  13. Thanks Skip & Jima, this was not an antagonistic question. I am sincerely interested in peoples beliefs on this. It would seem vital in determining how and for whom to prep. Preps for the Tribulation would need to be very different than for other hard times.
