JWR’s Recommendations of the Week

Here are JWR’s Recommendations of the Week for various media and tools of interest to SurvivalBlog readers. This week the focus is on 80% SIG P320 Trigger Group Modules. (See the Vlogs & Instructional Videos section.)

Books:

Bob Brownell’s Gunsmith Kinks

o  o  o

The Art of Raising a Puppy (Revised Edition)

o  o  o

I’ve mentioned this very practical book before: What to Expect When You’re Expecting

Movies & Television:

My old friend Fred The Valmetmeister recommended this BBC documentary: Empire Episode 1: A Taste for Power

o  o  o

The Ninth Day.  The true story of a Catholic priest from Luxembourg who was imprisoned at the Dachau death camp. Available on DVD, and also for free streaming to those with Amazon Prime.

o  o  o

Patriot Games. Available on DVD, and also for free streaming to those with Amazon Prime.

Speeches and Sermons:

Ron Paul: “The Federal Reserve  is amoral” – Speech at the Cato Institute

o  o  o

Pastor Tom Hughes: Revelation: Technology and the Mark of the Beast. His mention of hedge fund managers who are prepping (at the 4 minute mark) is a fascinating intro.

Vlogs and Instructional Videos (80% SIG P320 Trigger Group Modules):

80% Sig Sauer P320 X Carry: FULL TUTORIAL STEP BY STEP. (I’ve been waiting for several years for 80% trigger group modules and jigs to become available. The wait is over!)

o  o  o

Sootch: Bug Out Bag Set Up — Be Prepared

o  o  o

Glock Slide Disassembly and Reassembly. This video includes some great close-ups!

o  o  o

INCREDIBLE AND INGENIOUS Hidden Rooms AND SECRET Furniture #3

Gear:

Wysi Wipes. (Also commonly called Coin Towels.) Because these are so compact, many preppers carry these these in their bugout bags instead of toilet paper.

o  o  o

KRIËGER 1100 Watt 12V Power Inverter Dual 110V AC Outlets, Car Inverter Installation Kit Automotive Back Up Power Supply for Blenders, Vacuums, Power Tools. MET Approved to UL and CSA

o  o  o

These deserve a second mention: I recently received a sample of a new product from Ellis Guard LLC, in Colorado. They make a clever but simple molded rubber cover for detached AR-15/M4 uppers. These are ideal for anyone who owns multiple uppers for their AR, or for anyone who wants to carry one broken down. With these covers, the bolt carrier and charging handle are retained, dust and grime are kept out, and lubricants are held in. Thus, you can safely and cleanly carry an upper in your backpack, in a bugout bag, or in a vehicle carry kit.
