  1. Thank for the tip about the 38s making it difficult for empty 357s to extract if not cleaned well.
Good advise, some others have failed to mention that

  2. Another point worth mentioning with all .357 Magnum revolvers is that with full-power loads, shell extraction is generally difficult due to the pressure being exerted. The empties won’t simply drop out like .38 Specials do.

As for the Taurus M605, mine is the Stainless finish that cost less than half of S&W’s equivalent. It actually cost less even than Charter Arms and Ruger, while being better looking, and generally better fitted than the Charter Arms line. In terms of appearance, I’d say S&W and Taurus build the nicest looking snubbies with steel or aluminum frames.

  3. Thanks for the good article on the 605. Taurus has now changed the grips (to Finger grips on this particular model and indents on both sides of the grip for the thumb to rest on. I’d prefer to use .38 +P in this firearm. I found out long ago, that any “Wadcutter” ammo fouls the barrel and you have to scrub it. The price of this particular gun has come down to around $300, thus making it affordable for the average Joe. After hunting Deer for 20+ years using a Raging Bull, the .357’s feel like I’m shooting a .22. However, with the 2″ barrel that being offered now, it feels like a magnum.

  4. I’d love to know what your thoughts are on the sleeve barrel insert and longevity, I have this pistol in black and just got it at a gun show here in eastern NC.
