Very good article. A couple of diagrams of fallout plumes might have help folks understand the impacts of yield, height of burst, wind direction and strength on fallout patterns. FEMA produced a US map with “Sample Radioactive Fallout Pattern” that show one possible big picture. The impact of potential surface bursts on the Minuteman silos in Wyoming, N. Dakota and Montana are unmistakable.
