As a point of reference, it is now May, 2017 and I have begun rotating out (i.e., eating) MREs I’ve owned for a number of years. They have various manufacture dates in 2010 and inspection/test dates in 2013. They have been stored at room temperature (70-75 degrees depending on season – yeah, I like my A/C!).
Every single one I’ve eaten so far has been just fine. I suspect they easily have another few years of life in them.
