Here is SurvivalBlog’s News From The American Redoubt. This weekly column features news stories and event announcements from around the American Redoubt region. Idaho

I just noticed that Quest Aircraft Company in Sandpoint, Idaho has several job openings. These include a Junior Electrical Engineer, a machinist, a Junior Assembler, and a Customer Care Representative.

Montana (Shield Arms)

Shield Arms in Bigfork, Montana is already well-known for their milled pistol magazine extensions. They have now branched out and are marketing purpose-built folding AR-15 lowers. Unlike most other folding AR arrangements, the Shield Arms folding mechanism is built in to the lower.  Because of this, there is no need to use a special buffer. A standard M4 buffer works just fine. Check out their site!

Via a consulting client, I heard about an unusual Montana company that is worthy of mention: Kootenai River Ammuntion, in the town of Libby. From a Montana business development web site:  “Kootenai River Ammunition (KRA) is a northwest Montana based ammunition manufacturer. Our ammo is 100% designed and manufactured by shooters and hunters in Libby. It is meticulously tested and built from the best US-made components with a single goal in mind: to provide ammunition that will ensure shooters consistent accuracy, dependability, and maximum performance. We are a one-of-a-kind ammunition company as we were started by Libby Christian Church to impact our community by providing sustainable jobs. Christian values, family, and community are at the heart of our business as we strive to serve our customers, employees and communities. KRA is an independently run, yet wholly owned, subsidiary of Libby Christian Church.” Contact: Chad Collins: (406) 293-7788.

Eastern Washington

The horribly anti-gun I-1639 was ratified in last week’s midterm election.  It passed with roughly 60% of the vote, after  billionaires (some out-of-state) essentially “bought the vote.” It is noteworthy that the majority of voters east of the Cascades did not vote in favor of this ballot initiative. This is just another example of why the eventual partition of Eastern Washington into a separate state (Liberty State) is inevitable!

Yakima rifle maker Brubaker Arms Manufacturing deserves special mention. Their rifles and shotguns are amazingly well-made, and are sure to become family heirlooms. They build both “classic” style with highly polished metal, traditional bluing and fancy checkered wood stocks as well as modern Cerakoted rifles in synthetic stocks. Take a look!

  1. The state of Liberty is long overdue. Too bad it is a long process and that Spokane and Whitman counties voted for this nonsense . Socialist lunacy will eventually lead to the confiscation of our firearms . Sad times in the former land of the free . Prayer for what is left of our Republic is needed .

    1. Bluesman,
I dislike sounding “militant”, but when the time comes that the gubberment demands that you turn your guns in, disobey, “civil disobedience”.
When they come pounding on your door, yes, then give them your weapons……..at high velocity, one round at a time.
Yes, I make joke, but it’s a way to mask the inevitable horror and bloodshed that will come with such tyranny.

      1. DSS,
Ecclesiastes , 3, verse 1 says To everything there is a season; A time for every purpose under the heaven.
We do not seek trouble , but we may not ,in the future, be able to avoid it.Tyranny is evil.

  2. It was a sad day when that ***** initiative passed. Total confiscation is in the future barring anything short or a Second Revolution. Resolve and get used to the idea you are NEVER going to turn in your weapons of any sort to any official from any agency, for any reason. PERIOD!
