A trespassing video that I had mentioned a couple of weeks ago was taken down from YouTube because of a “privacy” complaint. But I’m glad to see that it was re-posted by another vlogger: Two Female Bonner County Tax Assessors; Caught Snooping On Private Property. JWR’s Comments: Public servants need to be held accountable for their actions. And they should have no expectation of privacy–especially when they are exceeding their authority. They had no right to be in that man’s shop–or anywhere on his posted property–without either his permission or a warrant issued by a local judge. You can’t just go traipsing around someone’s private land–and certainly not playing Looky-Loo inside someone’s buildings. Being a government employee grants no such right. Again, they need to either ask permission, or seek a lawful warrant.

JWR’s Comment: This video was obviously edited for brevity, but some of the key sticking points are clear. There are fundamental law issues that have not been resolved in several USFS access cases is western states! I’m praying that by the time these cases reach the Federal court of appeals or the Supreme Court that there will have been enough liberty-loving justices appointed to reach a correct decision, siding with the rights of citizen land owners. From my research, I’ve learned that a patented mining claim has a legal standing that is far above that of someone holding a “Warranty Deed.” (The latter is merely notice that a secreted true deed exists, elsewhere.)

JWR’s Comment: Of course the legislators in Olympia care nothing for the concerns for the small minority who live in the state’s Dry Side, east of the Cascades. We need to get some more of those elk here on the west side. The back strap I had tonight was wonderful. What I did not see discussed was the fact people from the west side go to elk camps on the east side, but the huge herds stay on private land, so they cannot be hunted. Now you have the ‘inside story’. This also happen here on the west side. The elk know to stay on the land of large land holders, and only their friends get to hunt on that private land. I eat good cause I know a large land owner. I believe the correct answer is to extend the season. Spike bulls also stay on those spreads too.
It appears that the State of Oregon needs to hire more mental health professionals.

Snooping Government Employees: My land around the house and barn are fenced with multiple No Trespassing signs posted; 6 large dogs patrol the inner-compound and there are alarms and security cameras which alert us to any presence. Our electrical coop folks come up the driveway and use binoculars to check the meter which is about 80 yards from where they stand. The County Assessors do a drive-by every summer. If they would ask permission, I’d let them in, but they never have asked.
Pay per mile taxes are the next step in pushing rural residents into cities. Taxing rural residents out of their homes continues with higher school ,town and county taxes. Easier to control if everyone is in the city. Thanks and keep up the good work.
The problem is electric vehicles. No Gas taxes. They could tax the EV batteries though instead.
Regarding banning single use plastic bags. When Connecticut did this in 2019 including in grocery stores, I said “no way”. ebay to the rescue! Found box of 1,000 t-shirt plastic bags, perfect size for produce or whatever for less than $40 DELIVERED. There are different sizes available. They can also hang on our old umbrella tree in a spare room, and we grab a few when needed. We are very careful that all bags are properly disposed of. Government may want to control me, but if I can find a way around it, and NOT harm the environment or anyone else, I will do it. CT charged 10 cents a bag, so for some people it really adds up when they are shopping. We have enough bags now for YEARS.
I hate the ban on bags. Paper bags can be bought for $.10 each and plastic bags can be bought also. It would appear that the intent is a tax and not anything else. It is inconvenient and stupid. I hope someone starts a push to overturn this. Went shopping yesterday and only bought what we could carry.
I had this brilliant idea. I have a large tote that will just barely fit in a shopping cart. Bring the tote with when I shop and fill it up. Then just put everything back in the tote when I leave and it would solve the problem. I do have a question for the legislature and stores. Does that sign on the door telling us to leave backpacks outside still apply since we are now required to bring something to pack our purchases in???
Anon-we literally saw a woman waking into Wal Mart with a tote as you described. The greeter asked if it was a return and she no, she was going to fill it up since they just banned plastic bags in that county. He looked confused as to whether he should allow it but she blew right by him

I’m with you on Baggrivation. I use them – you can nest two Amazon A3 boxes to form a waste basket, then nest all the thin plastic bags, so instant quick waste basket, when it gets full I just tie it off and there is another beneath.
Note how they don’t ban the ultra-brown ethnol as fuel additive. It takes a gallon of petrol to make a gallon of ethanol, it has almost the same carbon footprint, and is corrosive so will destroy engines – that is why it can’t be put in a pipeline.
But the picture of that turtle with a plastic straw in its nostril!

In regards to proposed gun ban in Washington State. Another exercise in futility, so typical of liberals. Never blame the actual causes of “gun violence”, blame the inanimate object. Let us hope that the Supreme Court comes up with a broad and sane decision this year that reaffirms our rights and prohibits these insane gun laws. Again I ask is there anyway of prosecuting politicians for violating their oath of office. Perhaps a single sheriff could start a trend by arresting and prosecuting a few of them?

Wasgington governer just signed into law making possession of “undetectable” , and also “untraceable” firearms a felony, among the states other newest anti 2A laws starting in 2020.
A large new class of felons now exists in the state.

If I was the home owner who caught the two women tax assessors in my garage I would have walked over and shut the overhead garage door and said “so glad to see you ladies.”
Re: Oregon cops on fishing expeditions. I don’t think this will stand. SCOTUS ruled in 1996 that pretext stops are ok. The DA will probably appeal, there’s too much money (asset forfeiture) in it for them and the cops.
