The ATF has issued an Open Letter on Silencers and Silencer Parts. This letter fails to clarify many things, including any mention of at-home silencer (suppressor) construction by non-FFLs. Take note that the Open Letter only applies to federally-licensed dealers. Since silencers are now re-classified as “firearms”, private citizens who are in a “Protected Class”, per the Jensen decision and the permanent restraining order issued by Judge James Wesley Hendrix may now construct silencers and possess silencer parts for their pwn construction projects with no ATF Form 1 or Form 4 required! Just be sure to join the GOA and carry proof of your GOA membership in your wallet at all times.

A reminder: A reminder on an upcoming gun show: I plan have four tables at Lewiston, Idaho, gun show on November 21-22 2026, (Nez Perce County Fairgrounds Pavilion) — My four-table reservation has been confirmed. I’ll be toting most of the Elk Creek Company inventory with me. Feel free to bring any of the books that I’ve authored, for me to autograph for you. Note: My plans for the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho show fell through, since they were sold out of tables.

A revised hardback edition of my first novel, Patriots — with a spiffy new cover, and a Foreword written by Michael Z. Williamson — should be available from Ulysses Press on December 8, 2026. But please wait until that day to place your order. (Mark your calendar.) – JWR
