Ay, ay, ay: Deputies say burglar dumped rare coins into coin counting machine. A son stole his own father’s pre-1965 silver, and put it in a “Coinstar” machine for a return of just under face value: $450 in the current funny money. The coins of course are worth 22 times their face value at any coin shop just for their silver content, not to mention any additional numismatic value. The accompanying mug shot says it all. Any guesses on whether or not he’ll be disinherited? Oh, and as reader James C. pointed out: “It is ironic, seeing the selling of a silver coin for pennies on the dollar in the town of Gresham.”  Bad money does drive out good.
