Large standing armies (National Guard): Check!
Debt (almost $23 trillion): Check!
Taxes (OMG!): Check!
Bringing the many under the domination of the few (We the people vs Congress): Check!
And these old dead white guys didn’t know anything. Really?
They gave you the standing army and accepted the state militias and also taxes, oh and before i Forget debt
The majority of our debt, the taxes, and the end of the militias and the growth of the large standing army, all happened post 1910. Our constitutional framers gave us the state and local militias (we the people) not a large standing army. They gave us no individual income tax. They gave us a manageable debt that was paid off from time to time, but not since 1910. Oh, and let us not forget, they gave us our jealously guarded, vigorously defended, neutrality, our constitutional foreign policy. That also ended with our entry into World War One and buried with our entry into World War Two. 1910 to 1920 were really bad years for the American people and our liberty. It’s been going down hill ever since.
They sampled a lot of debt during the war, they gave you a Standing army after the Revolution and btw. they broke the neutrality before there was an United States.
And that, Boys & Girls, is why the founders gave us a REPUBLIC – the rule of law, as opposed to a democracy – a rule by the majority.
We the people are ultimately in charge, but have forgotten and been brainwashed into believing that the feds, state, county, city Govs are in charge.
