Not entirely. If the State restricts itself to protecting life, liberty, and property within its own borders, rather than trying to mind everybody else’s business and profit at other nations’ expense, reserving its armies and wars for purposes of defense rather than conquest, there is nothing in this incompatible with Christianity. But such a State can only be the product of decidedly and practically Christian statesmen. Such was the intent of our Founders.
