On March 19, 1649, the House of Commons of England passed an act abolishing the House of Lords, declaring it “useless and dangerous to the people of England”. Perhaps it’s time Americans did the same with our Senate–or better yet return our Senate to its proper role–representing the individual States rather than electing Senators by popular vote.

YES! Most people will not realize that Senators are to be selected by the people we elect at the state level to represent the state.
That would revert the Senate to the problem it was before popular vote-a corporatist, big money, rapine cesspool(even worse than it is now). Learn from the mistakes of the past and don’t repeat them,we need to remove the big money from the political system(individual contributions from legal registered voters in the district,no PACs,no bundlers,no outside district, just the citizens being represented, get rid of pensions than make careerists).
