To be prepared for a crisis, every Prepper must establish goals and make both long-term and short-term plans. In this column, the SurvivalBlog editors review their week’s prep activities and planned prep activities for the coming week. These range from healthcare and gear purchases to gardening, ranch improvements, bug-out bag fine-tuning, and food storage. This is something akin to our Retreat Owner Profiles, but written incrementally and in detail, throughout the year. We always welcome you to share your own successes and wisdom in your e-mailed letters. We post many of those –or excerpts thereof — in the Odds ‘n Sods Column or in the Snippets column. Jim Reports:
We had a very productive week, here at the Rawles Ranch. I got a lot of firewood cut and split, and with the help of our daughter, it is now safely stacked under cover.
I took a trip into town for a small engine repair, and to buy a replacement tube gate. I also continued my quest for stocking up on ammunition, while supplies are relatively plentiful. I did manage to find some .410 shotshells, which continue to be scarce. The price of those shells was alarming, but we are living in the age of Bidenflation. It is better to buy things now than see our Dollars melt in the withering heat of inflation. As I like to say: “Tangibles, tangibles, tangibles!”
I also recently discovered that we were low on paper towels. I had stocked so many rolls before the Plandemic that I had assumed that I still had large supply. But a check down in Jim’s Amazing Secret Bunker of Redundant Redundancy (JASBORR) showed that I had just four bundles of rolls left. Yikes! So I came home from my trip to the city with the back end of our SUV crammed full of paper towel roll bundles.

Dear Readers,
Yes, We did have a very productive week, extremely busy getting food harvested, preserved, and things cleaned up. Often, when I sit down to relax, I turn on the Internet and watch my usual sites: Suspicious Observers, Adapt 2030, Israeli News Live with Steven Ben Nun, Steve Quayle, Full Spectrum Survival, Canadian Prepper, and others. I swear, each time I sit down and listen, they are all warning of the famine that is coming. Of course, I am warning you, too. But these guys also spur me on, since I am pretty much isolated on our ranch, I also need encouragement, to keep at it, too… I think “What am I doing, wasting time?” And I jump up and get into my next food project. Also all week, I have been hearing much of God’s Word. The Holy spirit has been quickening me. The deep excitement of the truth of the Lord God and the Truth of His soon returning son Jesus Christ has been coursing through my being all week. In the midst of this, I have been very busy, urgently, preparing our home and my soul.
This is what I did this week:
I picked raspberries both red and gold and made fruit leather, also one tray of dehydrated watermelon. I harvested cucumbers. I harvested Hungarian peppers. I harvested broccoli and cabbage. I washed, chopped, blanched, and froze about two gallons’ worth of broccoli. I harvested Fever Few and made it into a tincture with grain alcohol, a quart’s worth. I harvested Chamomille and dehydrated it for tea.
I harvested half of the celery from the garden, dehydrated it, and froze it.
I harvested purple carrots from the greenhouse, about a half gallon worth. Those, I just put in our refrigerator for immediate use.
I harvested Tart Cherries from our Cherry tree. I froze a gallon worth and dehydrated about a half-gallon worth.
I harvested the earliest planted potatoes, Vikings, Reds and Adirondack purples and cured them on our back porch for a few days. Then I separated by seed potatoes from the rest of the batch and Jim put them in our cold cellar.
I harvested the big turnips, peeled them cubed them, blanched them, and froze them. I also steamed the turnip leaves and froze them in quart baggies.
I harvested more carrots from the garden, both purple and orange while weeding, and put them, also, in the fridge.
I harvested from the greenhouse large amounts of Mint, Tarragon, Rosemary, Basil, Thyme, Parsley and Cilantro, I washed them and dehydrated them in the dehydrator.
In the area where I had harvested garlic, I planted a mixed blend of lettuce, beets, Swiss Chard, Spinach, Red kale, and carrots for fall crops.
I also planted in another area near the Greenhouse, more lettuce, kale, more carrots, and Pac Choi.
Both Jim and I spent time moving the hoses and sprinklers around watering fruit trees, berries, and the garden vegetables.
Our Transparent apples are turning yellow. I think they are ripening early, this year.
I did a lot of weeding.
I transplanted Apple Mint and Sage from the Perennial garden to the greenhouse. I want to use the center of that garden as a regular garden next year. I need to transplant Gooseberries and bring the oregano also into the greenhouse. I’ve decided to put some Perennials in another spot in the regular garden.
The farrier came and trimmed the horses’ hooves.
I cleaned the Hen House and the Sheep Shed both in one day! Whew, they were in a serious need to be cleaned. Those were huge jobs. I’m happy that they have clean homes once again.
I listened to the book of Exodus while working in the kitchen.
LaraBar Recipes:
Several Readers wrote in last week asking for my LaraBar clone recipes. I actually read, researched the two links to get ideas for LaraBars then pretty much did what I wanted, to modify them.
Thusfar, I have made raspberry-cashew cookie bars this week with fresh raspberries. The bars were too wet, so I put it in the dehydrator for about four hours. Afterward, I put the bars into the refrigerator. We ate them so quickly that it wouldn’t matter too much to have them so moist. But if you want bars with fresh fruit and you want to keep them long-term, then you need to dehydrate them or freeze them.
As many of you know I am an End Time Event Watch-Woman. In the past two weeks a lot of stuff has been happening in rapid succession. Specifically, I keep and eye on Israel because ISRAEL is THE Timepiece and the central player of the End Time events. I also keep tabs on space weather and geological events. Here are some things I wish to warn you about and ask you to keep an eye on:
This is a “must be listened to carefully” David Dubuyne Adapt 2030’s latest video: “Do the Elite Know How to Survive What’s Coming?” Dubuyne explains that huge space and geological events will be occurring during the next two years and that 2030 is the reset after these events occur. This means that we are much further along in our Endtime timetable than we may think.
Also, you must listen to this David Dubuyne interview video: “How close to the Famine Revelation Seal Are We?” that came out on Tuesday of this week. Jeff Raymond’s Timeline chart of the Last Days is very similar to our chart from our local Bible Study Leader. God IS revealing His timeline to all who are seeking Him and to know. God said that He would open understanding to His prophecies in the Last Days and it is Happening! See Daniel 12:9:

Picking up from where I left off last week:
Netanyahu has been lying to Christians. I loved Netanyahu, until 2021 when I heard him say that he wanted to chip all children for “Contact Tracing” during the Covid Plandemic. Then I saw the truth of who he was and turned away. It was a very painful revelation to me. That horrid feeling of realizing how deceived I’ve been by him really rocked me to the core.
Back in March of this year, two Knesset Members proposed a ban on the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Israel with prison time for breaking the law. Now that they have effectively shut down the Secular Supreme court’s ability to check the Knesset’s legislation from having any say in the decisions of Israel’s now far-right religious government, this proposal may well be introduced again in the very near future and will be passed.
A very recent article in The Jerusalem Post, July 26, 2023 discusses a different way to Divide Israel into Two States. Nitsan Amit of Givataim proposes a different way to divide Israel into two states, Judea and New Israel. These Israelis want to divide up the Land of Israel. I have concluded that they are not true Israel. For God says in the book of Joel Chapter 3:2:
