To be prepared for a crisis, every Prepper must establish goals and make long-term and short-term plans. In this column, the SurvivalBlog editors review their week’s prep activities and planned prep activities for the coming week. These range from healthcare and gear purchases to gardening, ranch improvements, bug out bag fine-tuning, and food storage. This is something akin to our Retreat Owner Profiles, but written incrementally and in detail, throughout the year. We always welcome you to share your own successes and wisdom in your e-mailed letters. We post many of those –or excerpts thereof — in this column, in the Odds ‘n Sods Column, and in the Snippets column. Let’s keep busy and be ready!
Jim Reports:
I am now counting the days until my return to the Rawles Ranch. My out-of-state travels are tiring, but at least I’ve been gathering some great inventory for Elk Creek Company. Among others, I’ve found a couple of more stainless Ruger Old Army revolvers, a scarce 1898-dated Swedish Mauser carbine, a custom Ludwig Loewe Mauser sporter, and a Winchester Model 1894 takedown rifle that was made in 1898. I’ll resume taking orders on September 29th.
As of this month, I’m now 61 years old. I’m doing my best to stay lean and physically fit. I’m pleased to report that I now have another grandnephew, and my eldest son and his wife are expecting another child. Those are accomplishments that mean a lot more to me than books with my name on their covers.
Now, over to Lily…
Avalanche Lily Reports:
Dear Readers,
This week has been sunny and crisp, really beautiful fall weather.
I don’t really have too much to say this week.
I harvested plums from my plum tree. It was a really decent harvest about forty pounds worth. I have been freezing them and we are eating them like crazy. They are super sweet and yummy. Yes, I ate way too many…having forgotten their cleansing power. Oops! In the future, I’ll only eat a few a day. 😉
I froze a group of my tomatoes. I know, I know, I should be canning most of them. I just don’t like canned foods very much. Anything I can is generally used far into the future. And of course, we don’t know when and if we will lose all electricity. Then I will be in a mess trying to get stuff canned.
I tried an apple from one of my apple trees. Oh my goodness, it was so crispy and sweet, just absolutely life-giving. Food that is alive! I promptly went back down to the orchard and picked four more to eat throughout the day. And only after a few minutes of biting into it, it started to oxidize. Just what a proper all-natural apple should be doing!!!
I have been bike riding about the ranch for exercise during our crisp mornings.
A quote from an Orthodox Christian in Greece concerning the V. Paraphrased: “Something truly good for you is not forced or mandated”
I spent some more time in the book of Daniel this week. We must remember the great exploits that Daniel and the Three Hebrew children did through God using them. They set their hearts and trust in the Lord God Of Israel and went against the government mandates. They were willing to give up their lives if need be, but refused to worship anything but the Lord God of heaven. The Lord God of Heaven honored their faith and trust in Him and wrought miracles and saved their lives!!! God Promises that at the End of Days the Wise ones the Saints will do great exploits in the name of our God Jesus. To me, that sounds very exciting! I will trust in the Lord and not bow down to this Beast system that is being revealed right now as were are currently living. Do some research: The Internet of things (IoT), the Internet of the body. The mixing of flesh with artificial intelligence/transhumanism. Don’t let them inject you with the Serpent’s poison. RESIST! If one accepts the poison gene therapy, then you may be becoming one with Satan!!! In effect, marrying Satan. He is mixing his DNA with Yours. Who’s bride are you: Jesus’ or Satan’s?
Dear Readers you must listen to Kevin O Smith. He explains these same topics extremely well!
A heads-up about an hour into the video, he begins a type of chant, retelling of who the Bible characters are and their exploits and God’s promises. It must be a part of their culture. It seems a bit wild and alarming, with his “Huff” sound. It is a bit like the Maori’s Haka Dance of New Zealand, only its all Words from the Bible that he is reciting. I actually turned it off at that point. I didn’t get back into it, other things had my attention. Therefore I don’t know how it ends. Up until then he has very amazing information that I think is quite spot-on, though I do not think I agree with his eschatological time table…. {Edit as of Sunday: He claims to be a Hebrew Israelite. In the past I have rejected that idea, now I am undecided. I’ll let God sort that out.} I’ll have to listen to more of his videos to completely decide, eschatology… He came to my attention only at the beginning of the week and I’ve only heard two videos. June Knight will be interviewing him Saturday Night. Her channel and Blog are We Are The Bride WATBTV. Just so you understand, he is Jamaican and longer fingernails in men in his culture means that he is not a laborer. He works with his brain versus his hands…
May you all have a very blessed and safe week.
