  1. Great writer. Stephen King admired his work. Matheson also wrote the short story that would become basis of the 1970’s movie of the week called “Duel”. That was Steven Spielberg’s first major directed flick, and so popular was the TV movie that it was later made into a movie for distribution in theaters worldwide. “Duel” catapulted him into his present success.

    1. I was a kid in the 70’s when my family watched, “Duel.” I remember it to this day because we were terrified! Definitely a forerunner type of the Terminator, because the truck never stopped coming, lol. What a great writer.
