i have her book atlas shrugged but just haven’t got around to reading it yet. i have about 20+ books on my dresser qued up for reading..sigh
The Fountainhead is an easier book to read, if you wanted to try that first. But, I’ve read both and I like Atlas Shrugged better.
And that sir, is what the principles of Freedom are all about, The ability to disagree with someone on one thing, while admiring them and agreeing with them on another. It’s called compromise and is the essential part of forming a society that works to benefit all in that society. One of the simplest lessons to learn but the easiest to forget….
And Wally, I too have to many books in the que. Every time I hear of an interesting book I write it down. My list now contains 4 pages, roughly 34 per page and counting. I thinking I’m gonna need to live at least to 167 years to get through them all.
So many books, so little time! All I know is that “The More I learn, the more I realize how little I know” !
Ahhh… Ayn Rand… brilliant but eccentric…
I saw her once on TV being interviewed by Tom Snyder … she must have been in her 80’s …
My first exposure to her was in high school (they wouldn’t let that happen today)… a short story called “Anthem.”
A future dystopia of complete collectivism… there is no word “I” … every person is expressed as “we”…the hero finds books and scientific equipment in an underground chamber, and rediscovers the idea of individual worth and identity… and love.
