A friend and I were fortunate to buy some reloading equipment from someone who was getting out of it. Included was a single-stage Lyman press, a Pacific balance scale, .38 and .44 dies, a MEC shotshell reloader, case trimmer, powder trickler, reference books and all sorts of accessories, all for $120.00! Now you may not be so fortunate, but one can begin reloading with single stage equipment relatively inexpensively, and it’s fun! Now there are even kits that can be bought with everything you need in a box except for maybe the dies which are not that expensive. We knew nothing about reloading but with reference books and help from a friend who has reloaded for decades we are getting it done, we’ve reloaded everything from .38 special to .300 Win Mag. As the writer insists, great care must be taken to do this safely, follow the reference materials instructions as to powder type and measure and bullet weight among other things. Attention to detail is required. Chances are if you are reading SurvivalBlog you will know someone who reloads who can be a mentor. It sure beats sitting around watching TV.
Congratulations to all the writers whose contributions were enjoyed within the SB community of readers! Your efforts and contributions are so much appreciated!
Telesilla says it right. I’m grateful for the skill shares each of you has offered. The time you invested in giving us your hard earned knowledge is much appreciated by this old dog.
