  1. Something missing today is the lack of interactions of patents with their kids, with smartphones trumping playing with kids.

Smartphones also trump having personal interactions with other adults. People need face to face personal interaction, not some imaginary social media dopamine hit.

I got UNO cards and went to a picnic, and imposed a 2 card penalty if anyone glanced at their phone during the game. At one point 8 people were laughing and having a good time interacting with their family. When the game ended, the phones came back out……..

    1. That reminds me.
A buddy of mine used to make cell phone jammers. They worked in about a 50’ radius. He used to love turning it on when walking into coffee shops just to watch the horror and confusion.
I’m gonna have to hit him up and see if he still makes them.

      1. I totally want one too!
I would have loved to have had one when I worked at Starbucks. It would have been hilarious to see the “crack in a cup addicts” go nuts when their phone freaks out while I’m trying to take their orders. Bahahah!!!

        Rock on!

    2. That’s why my son won’t be having ANY electronic devices, and my wife and I make very limited use of them. So many people don’t know how to interact in person anymore.

  2. While technology has it’s uses and advantages I always remember this:

    Ephesians 2:2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air,the spirit that now workers in the children of disobedience:

Prince of the power of the air- another name for the devil and his control. Technology = wireless/air waves, from tv to computers, phone, etc.

At least how I was told.

  3. So Spokane is becoming little China now. Henceforth, based on the “real” epidemiology of COVID, anyone who has an influenza infection from now on and refuses to quarantine ought to go to jail as well. Either that, or the govt should seal them in their houses for two+ weeks, right?

    1. Don’t give the state governors any ideas. We will have annual lock downs for any reason, or no reason at all. 🙂

By the way, no official “covid deaths” in Michigan yesterday.

  4. I wonder, if you go to the office and someone there tests positive for COVID and afterwards you catch it, can you claim time loss due to exposure? I know you can’t for cold or flu, but is this different?
