  1. We are ALL suffering from the negative effects of law as depicted by Bastiat. The effects are so infused within, not only our society but, the whole world we have come to accept this as NORMAL. It is NOT normal, it is a violation of the very essence of mankind.

There was a movie, (The International) a number of years ago. If you can ignore the (normal?) foul language, and the excessive bang bang shoot them up….the narrative was excellent. It was of course fiction but, I believe, you could substitute current names and faces and it could just be a current affairs documentary.

  2. Amen EAM. Even those laws which appear to be “good laws” because they grant us “freedoms” such as constitutional carry are bad laws because they only serve to legitimize worse laws which made constitutional carry illegal in the first place. Our freedoms are supposed to be self-evident and unalienable, not granted to us by self-serving politicians or taken away from us by one majority or another.

  3. The law condemns us. I am reminded of the quote from “Devil’s Advocate” when the Devil’s son asks him “What about the law dad?” to which Satan responds “the law lets us into EVERYTHING!!!”.

You really do have to be sentient and able to reason to be this stupid. As a species, we are unanimously without equal. Not only do we strive to find a way to destroy ourselves completely, we intend to do so taking as many other species as live on this planet with us.

Let us hope the cockroaches that take our place someday fare better than we have.

  4. Benjammin, I have often said the human race is a very young immature species. We have much potential but the potential to destroy ourselves is also in play. Although I do believe it is not in the heart of providence that we could ever destroy the entire species the thought of the up coming trial leaves me heartsick.
