The next major event following this was the Chechen-led mass murder event at Beslan on September 3, 2004. This opening day of school for parents and kids ended three days later with over three hundred parents, teachers and children raped and murdered, along with 11 Russian anti-terror officers killed during the rescue of the rest.
The book ‘Terror at Beslan” is an excellent expose of the vulnerability and probable future attack here in the US, by John Giduck who personally interviewed the special forces who conducted both the October 23, 2002 and September 3-6, 2004 rescue operations.
The Chechens studied the theater attack response and applied their lessons learned to Beslan, utilizing over 50 attackers. We can expect the ISIS-type terrorists to attempt similar operations here in the future.
The book Day of Wrath by William Forstchen is a good illustration of one possible scenario of a terrorist attack on a school.
Ma G, can I hear an ‘Amen!’ The reality of Day of Wrath was well.. terrifying. Every parent should read this before sending their children into ‘death traps by design’.
Mr. Forstchen has my respect as an author. He brings simple realism to his writing.
