Interesting that when I went to see the movie in 1984-5 I went to a very large 2000 seat theater in the Portland Oregon area and it was full and everyone but me was a Indian. I had no idea that there were 2000 Indians in Portland back then.
During an interview, the esteemed actor says he was born into a mohammedan family.
As an adult, he is Quaker.
During the interview, he showed enormous intelligence and humor, and a surprising grasp of world issues.
He is an interesting man.
