When the State gains a monopoly on education (as detailed in Marx’s Manifesto), it gains the power to suppress all education, except that which serves its monopolistic interests. The person who withdraws from these influences a major portion of the time, and drinks at the fountain of Scripture and nature, is a threat to the monopoly.
