It is very important to get this stuff. Patrolling is one way, and SIGINT is another way, and two can be combined. Listening to a simple scanner has the greatest cost benefit ratio, that requires the least skill and manpower, and has the least risk, and gives you a tactical advantage, early warning, that can take away the element of surprise they enemy is relying on as a primary advantage to win.
