When I read of Rutger Hauer’s passing, I recalled an old 1990’s movie WEDLOCK, a futuristic prison which had inmates wearing a fixed collar with small explosive which decapitated the wearer when another inmate wearing another collar separated themselves from a fixed distance. No one was aware which collar was tuned to the other, so it kept the inmates from attempting to escape. Genius.
Have always enjoyed Jack London books and think them essential reads for anyone, especially young men, with any sort of adventurous streak. Living in an A-frame in the woods in E Wa. in 1972, the night before opening of elk season, snowing, fire in the fireplace, stayed up all night and read the entire book “White Fang”. Perfect setting and a perfect book.
I think one of Rutger Hauer’s best movies was “Wanted Dead or Alive”.
