Very correct statement of the lifetime dedication to God, Corps, & Country. I was honored to serve USMC in same time frame, going through boot same time Gunny was DI at MCRD San Diego. Served at same base, different squadron in Okinawa, in country same time plus a few. Unfortunately our paths never crossed. RIP Gunny Ermy – you are missed!
On this, the anniversary of the Beirut, Lebanon Marine barracks bombing, remember the 241 Marines killed, the 100 wounded, and the 58 French paratroopers killed in a near simultaneous attack.
Those sleeping Marines were betrayed. The gate sentries were ordered to empty the magazines on their rifles. The 6″ pipe barrier across the gate was mysteriously removed. A setup, likely intended to draw us into getting more deeply involved in the Middle East quagmire.
When I first heard the news of my brothers being murdered, I wept openly.
Since I learned more about the situation, my outrage smolders.
Carry on.
RIP gunny….
Semper Fi Gunny. RIP sir!
Viet Nam Vets know that they were cannon fodder to fight a war for military contractors, bankers and globalists. Where are they crying out to stop 28 years of war in the Middle East?
