A great photo but not representative of 1835. The photo would be mid 1860s or later. That was when repeating arms came into use by the North. You know “They could be loaded on Sunday and shot all week” according to the Southern forces.
Just watched “Comanche Moon” the prequel to “Lonesome Dove” and covers this period and subject.
