As I recall, it was in support of a humanitarian mission to provide food security in a collapsed state. Proponents scolded ‘us’ as rich, safe, entitled people who didn’t care about counties with no oil.
So we went to that failed state, in an effort to help. Now the dead are scolded as arrogant for doing anything.
