I’m sorry, but everything about this article absolutely screams tinfoil-hat conspiracy theory garbage with no basis in fact or scripture other than dubious links between the writings of an alleged dream of one woman 114 years ago, and some Mumbo Jumbo ramblings about a professional Footballs teams logo and the design of a states flag that honestly sounds more like Masonic conspiracy theories about pictures on the dollar bill.
There are enough real and legitimate threats that should spur all of us into leaving urban areas (I left them myself for my full-time rural retreat) without indulging this nonsensical rant that serves only to make the rest of us look like kooks. Not sure how this piece managed to get published. SurvivalBlog is better than this…..

The passage you quote is an event of the 7 year tribulation which begins with the signing of a 10 nation peace treaty with Israel. Believe in Jesus for eternal life as written

Would this be the Ellen G White who belongs to the cult of the Seventh Day Adventist church?
Many things I can tolerate – but Ellen G White’s teachings (she was the key formation of the SDA church whom they call “a lesser light” in reference to her relationship to Christ) is a DIRECT attack on the sovereignty of God. This church preaches a different Jesus, uses their own Bible (the Clear Word) where they add to the word of God, preaches a works based salvation and follows this single prophet Ellen G White. Her writing are full of failed “prophecies”, plagiarism, manipulation of the Word of God and hypocrisy. This woman is a mouth-piece of Satan, there is no religious goodness in her. I was born and raised in this cult, spent over 40 years being indoctrinated in their acadamies and colleges. I know intimately what this church stands for and Survival Blog just jumped the shark with this one.

You are incorrect. We use King James Bible. I do not own a Clear Word as a SDA. You had a bad experience in SDA church ibviously. I’m sorry you learned the Truth, then fell away from it. No further comment. Just wanted to clarify our Bible is KJV.
Your personal truth has nothing to do with the Absolute Truth. You need to read the founding of SDA which was by William Miller who was a follower of John Nelson Darby. When you learn the truth of the rapture, you will have actually learned some truth.

SurvivalBlog allows others to express their opinions through their writings on the Blog. We do not necessarily have the same opinion or agree with the writer. If you want a site that only has one opinion and holds a hard line to that opinion, this isn’t the place. If you disagree with the author, feel free to post your opposing opinion in the comments section but make sure you adhere to the Discussion Guidelines when you do. You may attack the ideas (having references is always best practice when you do) but attacking the person is not allowed. The author is entitled to his own opinion. You are not required to read it if you don’t want to.
Greg S above may claim to have been raised and schooled in the Seventh-day Adventist tradition. However what he apparently learned is quite different from the facts of this church. Ellen White is considered a prophet of God as set out in the Bible (not necessarily The Clear Word). Her writings uplift but do not contradict the Bible. As to failed prophesies, none so far. The Clear Word is not the official Bible of our church. We have no official Bible. In fact the King James Version is probably the most-used version.
While I may not agree with all of this article’s claims, Mr. Rawles has the grace and dignity to allow us freedom of thought and sharing as he did with this writer. There is virtue in leaving the cities. And this is this writer’s reasons why.
Study of the history of the SDA church would explain the happenings and God’s reasons for the misunderstanding of the 1844 date. The church people as in all churches have their failings but the church body believes in salvation only in the acceptance of Christ’s death for salvation. Right “works” show our lives have been changed by Jesus and we wish to live as the Scriptures teach.
Please do not judge the Seventh-day Adventist church by one writer’s apparent mislearning for 40 years.
I have appreciated all the reader comments about the importance of reliance on God for our ultimate safety. God will give us wisdom to know what is important in preparing both physically and spiritually if we will give ourselves to His side.
I have a feeling I am going to regret getting into this debate, but here I find myself. Your 7th Day Adventist Church is a cult founded, led, and based upon tre teachings of False Prophets, and should have been resigned to the dustbin of history back in October of 1844 when the “misunderstanding” occurred. The word of God is infalliable and unmistakable, and those who pervert or twist it to their own ends are false prophets. Gods Word teaches us how to recognize false prophets:
But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death. You may say to yourselves, How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord? If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him [or his lies, so put him to death].” (Deuteronomy 18:20-22, insertion mine).
It’s quite simple. God is never wrong, and never allows falsehoods to come from the mouth of his true prophets when they are speaking in his name. Never. Ever. So, when you find a “prophet” who’s “prophesies” have failed to come true, well, you know what they are and what to do.

Ellen White was not called to be a prophet until after the disappointment of 1844 so cannot be connected with that prophecy. Rather that prophecy comes from Daniel 8:14 if you wish to look it up.
We were not formed as a church until 1865 after diligent searching of scripture and prayer.
The Bible is the only basis for our faith.

Can I disagree with any of the previous comments? NO…But sometimes you have to read stuff you cannot agree with just to see how different other people view the world. Having blinders on is not good, even if you have to wash you eyes out with soap and water afterward.
For years, we have lived under the threat of nuclear weapons, not unlike fireballs in description. Besides ballistic missiles and bombs, now we have new technologies from the Russians, like nuclear powered cruise missiles and torpedoes, with unlimited range, and maneuvering hyper-sonic missiles. Which, everyone else will now want to develop for their own use. Yet, our normalization bias tells us that it won’t happen, or won’t happen to us, or we will plan our way out of the situation when it happens, like in films and fiction.
Sir John Glubb said that the fall of empires is diverse. Pax Americana ended the Spanish empire and took it’s place. Man-made, Natural, or Biblical, we all know it is coming one day, in whatever form. Which is why we read this blog, learn, plan, and act accordingly.
A city is not going to be a good place to be… Yet, I saw a map one time that showed half the U.S. Population lives in 146 cities…

Probably not useful to post this but I did read the Discussion Guidelines and will be careful. I think it was obvious that I don’t believe the article represents sound analysis, but I did not think anyone would be interested in arguments about scriptural interpretation. My real question was why this was printed. You’ve answered that and it is of course your decision. Just so you know; what I was feeling is that this one probably does not motivate non-preppers and that has always seemed to be a major goal of the site.
I’m in Knoxville and my wife and I are leaving this screwball state on the 1st of August, so I hope the Big Guy upstairs holds off till after we’re gone. My reading of Biblical scripture calls for 3 times of destruction of the Earth by God. 1) The historical flood of Noah . 2) the destruction by fire during the “Day of Judgement” Isaiah 65:11-20 and 2 Peter 3: 4-14 and 3) somewhat metaphorically to me: Rev 21:1; a new heaven and a new earth, without the seas.
But why pick on Nashville?
The problem that arises is one of personal interpretation (opinion) based on an experience, which in this case was someone’s dream of what appeared to be a catastrophic event.
Will it happen? Maybe and maybe not, who is to say. It was a dream and nothing more.
In the context of someone living in the late 1800s / early 1900s they would have been exposed to hearing many of the teachings mentioned in the article, and in turn those teachings provide an impact on the persons thoughts, both conscious and unconscious. That she had a dream(s) of that nature is not surprising, as many who heard those Biblical teachings numerous times probably had similar ones.
Creating a teaching around it in the context of it having some sort of Biblical meaning is again, personal interpretation (opinion), and should be taken as such.
Everyone has an opinion, and opinions are subjective, not objective…
I feel this article is poorly written, illogical, and not helpful. Of course I agree with the concept of leaving the cities while you can.
Ahh, lot of broad based conclusions in this article based on Christ teachings. Although I am sure of Biblical prophecy in general, the specifics of when and how are indeterminate at this point in time. In fact Jesus himself said watch for the signs ( Matthew 24/25 ) and keep your eyes open. Never gave specific dates. And frankly people in the country may be subject to the same judgements as those in large sin ridden cities. Sin and moral decay knows no specific location or geography. It can be anyplace anytime.
The authors seems uninformed on how God is going to destroy this age.
It’s clearly spelled out in Revelations in great detail.
And nothing mankind can do will stop God’s Judgement on man and his sin
There is nowhere to move to avoid His judgment except to be a follower of Christ and place your faith in Him.
Sadly Ellen White was a fraud and she proves it with her own writings.
Having lived in Nashville for about 6 years, I know Centennial Park, where the building in the picture is located, to be almost ground zero for every pervert or drug deal in Nashville, I think the article is pretty much all BS and kooky stuff..but still chuckled at the thought of the park being smacked.

I don’t know one thing about this woman or Seventh day Adventists, but to want to censor something someone wrote seems so contrary to what we have here. Someone wrote something about them sticking to there own websights. And can’t believe Survival Blog posted this. This from the same people who make fun of millenials and their safe spaces.
I’m not sure you have an understanding of what censorship is. First and foremost, this blog is NOT a public accommodation, and therefore is under no obligation to publish opposition views. Censorship does not apply. For example, if someone were to submit an article denigrating Christianity in favor of, say, Zoroastrianism, would the failure of this openly pro Judeo Christian blog be considered censorship? The answer is, of course, no. Additionally, simply because a viewpoint is contrarian to the general meanings of the blog does not qualify it to special privileges exempting it from criticism, particularly when the audience (correctly, in my opinion), identifies the work as poorly organized and presented, and it’s content questionable at best. No one is denying this authors right to adhere to there beliefs, or to present it in a public forum, or suggesting that the state suppress their rights. That is what censorship is.
Thank you for writing your article and for SB publishing it. I do appreciate the potential for catastrophic events when another meteor strikes the planet. And I agree there are some cities where guilt by association, i.e. you didn’t move out of Seattle and Portland when you knew you should leave the PLGBT people, will result in mutual destruction. (Three guesses what the P stands for). Jesus spoke specifically and clearly, as recorded by his eyewitnesses, about what we should be doing now. Let’s make that our focus.

The one thing I benefited from in this article was the Scripture quote. I was familiar with it, but only applied the first part (people going about their business as usual), and not the second part (fireballs from heaven). Hmm. it is both, clearly.
Sodom was found, flash fried, a few years ago. You can look it up in Biblical Archeology Review online. Particles of earth were glassified on their exterior. Which means temperatures well over 2,000 degrees F, for a very brief time. It was not a typical city fire. There are photos, so you can see for yourself. This is legitemate, not an “Ancient Aliens” type farce.
They found it by following the directions in the Bible. There was a lot of screaming about that.
If you read the book of Revelation it talks about something hitting the Earth.

In reality I think the Great Whore Babylon, the US, will be toasted and gone by then. If its a nuclear strike from Russia then those in the great redoubt will not have much of a chance. Look at the FEMA maps. Your area is set for the largest strike damage.
Do a study on Babylon in prophecy. The similarities to the US are dead on.
Wow! This article certainly caused a “firestorm” here! Sounds like it touched a nerve with a lot of folks. Maybe even bordering on conviction? I remember the story of the stoning of Stephen in the book of Acts in the Bible. The intense anger of the Jewish leaders at Stephen’s sermon. That type of anger usually comes with conviction that is being ignored.
I don’t think I’ve seen an article on here cause such a reaction. I’ve seen lots of comments following articles that disagreed with the article but never quite to this extent that those commenting here have done.

I don’t know about the specifics of prophetic interpretation particularly regarding eschatology. And before someone attempts to school me on it I have already studied it all in depth all my life. I have come to the same conclusion many theologians prior the 1800s did and leave the specifics to God. However the general principle of judgement is quite well supported in scripture IMO. And it does not have to be universal final judgement although it may be quite final for those impacted. And God has imposed multiple rounds of judgement that were not universally final in response to gross widespread sin.
There is and always will be a certain level of sin everywhere. No exceptions. However there does seem to be a certain level at which a person, region, nation is risking Gods judgement. I don’t know exactly when that point is reached but perhaps God will reveal it to watchful believers. I suspect that point has been reached in some of our cities especially when many are now OFFICIALLY rejecting virtually everything Godly and OPENLY embracing evil. Perhaps the “When you see…flee…” passages are advising us to look not for specific things but things equally evil in our own time. I would speculate that some places might be there. I don’t know this for a fact but I would be hesitant to live in my nearest big city.
As to whether the judgement is an astroid or a disease or a nuclear strike matters little to the dead.

Thank you Survivalblog for publishing this article. I can imagine the negative comments that might have been posted against an article warning about a coming worldwide flood. The derision the writer would have weathered regarding his cultic church and his confidence in lunatic Noah would have been similar to some of the negative comments regarding this article. If we were living in Noah’s day, that survival article would have been the most important paper ever published.
Even if someone wants to discount the dreams of that lady; what about the words of Jesus Himself? If Luke 17:28-32 is not warning us of God’s judgments that will befall wicked cities like Sodom, what is it all about? Why would Jesus issue instant evacuation orders in the context of historic immoral cities and fireballs from the heavens if He wasn’t prophesying similar judgments on the immoral cities at the end of time?
This article is like so many others I’ve read in the past and I make the assessment it was written by a far-right fringe of Seventh-day Adventist. I easily recognize it because I am a Seventh-day Adventist. Unfortunately this denominations has it’s share of nut-cases. Perhaps well-meaning nut-cases but nut-cases none the less. I have enjoyed the writings of Ellen White and believe they have brought me to a closer relationship with the Lord but I’m not one to put her on a pedestal. She was just a messenger. There were others during her time and before that shared an honest conviction that the Lord’s return was immanent and to happen soon but this started long before Ellen White came on the scene. Many writers during this era of religious awakening came from different religious denominations. But that’s enough about that; I’m not commenting to convince anyone but one more thing I’ll add and that is the denomination does not have it’s own bible. The Clear Word is a paraphrase written by a single individual and I do enjoy reading from it but I also have several other versions on my study desk and personally prefer the NKJV and also enjoy the NIV, NRSV and others. Now on to what I wanted to comment on—
The concept of a field of asteroids heading toward earth is plausible. After all, some have reached the earth and left their mark. Should one hit a city there would be mass hysteria no doubt. But are we to assume that these asteroids will target the cities by God? Perhaps the writer is inferring that is the case. But if the asteroids are just a natural phenomena who’s to say one won’t drop right on your chicken coop out in rural America?
I was just reading Acts 12 this morning how Herod had the apostle James killed by the sword and how later an angel of the Lord smote him and he was eaten by worms. My point being God can inflict judgment on whom he chooses, how he chooses and where he chooses. If one doesn’t have a right relationship with the Lord, living in the city or country won’t spare them from judgment. A country lifestyle lends itself to being closer to God but it isn’t a guarantee. Also sorts of evil is readily available world-wide by way of telephone, television and internet – and the thoughts of man.
So I hope the bias or experience of a few won’t taint others from at least becoming familiar with the beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist. There are sound principals to lead people on a path to a Godly life. In the end, it’s up to the individual as to what they feel the Holy Spirit is leading them to do or to believe.
Personally I feel this article is an embarrassment to my church. Fear is a great motivator. I remember the Baptist preacher from my youth getting all worked up in a lather from the pulpit espousing the belief of hell fire and brimstone. That teaching did more to drive me from the Lord than anything else.
Some of the comments on this article assumed that the writer was a Seventh-day Adventist. The article doesn’t say to what church, if any, he or she belongs. The assumption is no doubt based upon the fact that the author quoted from Ellen White. However, this lady is read and respected by many others besides Seventh-day Adventists. Notice this Barna survey:

Interesting reaction from preppers who profess to prepare. Seems the comments focus on attacking the messenger rather than the message. While the validity of the article is right to be questioned, those who claim to be Christian preppers should not criticize the words of our Lord. Instead we should examine his words..every jot and tittle to glean what he is saying. Clearly the early christians did so as they took him seriously in leaving Jerusalem for Pella. Regardless of whether you agree with this faith or that faith, we live I sober times that even the godless among us are questioning the reality. I lived as one in the world, doubting all the end time language and theories until our Lord was merciful enough to awaken me to the realities around. I know I heard his still small voice telling me to get the heck out of Los Angeles this year and find a less chaotic environment to prepare for his return. Prepping is useless without a relationship with him. The godless prepper may indeed survive disasters as individual events, but not if they are as a result of the birth pangs identified in Matthew 24. Those lead to a glorious event that is filled with joy. One that Christians should be longing for.
