Easily one of the most depressing movies I have ever seen. I’m quite sure I never want to go through that.
Brooksy- I agree, I felt that MacCarthy wanted to deny his audience any hope of a happy ending. I think the bunker scene was gut punch to the reader/viewer.
One of the few movies I quit watching before it was over, just couldn’t take it anymore.
I only watched that movie once and thought it was joke. 1) Runs around the whole movie with a 38 revolver and 3 rounds. 2) They spent a night sleeping in an 18 wheeler abandoned on the middle of a bridge, talk about a trap. 3) They find the fully stocked bunker but no firearms, give me a break. 4) After a few encounters with cannibals you would think they would’ve wised up about “checking places out”. 5) And ironically one of the biggest No-Nos is in the name of the movie. In that dire situation the one place you do not want to be is on “The Road” or any other human traveled paths.
Did any one here watch it more than once (a group I’m in myself and I gave up on the book)?
