  1. “If you are for gun control then you are not against guns, because guns will be needed to disarm people. So it’s not that you are anti-gun – you’ll need the police’s guns to take away other people’s guns. So you are very pro-gun. You just believe that only the government (which of course is so reliable, honest, moral, and virtuous) should be allowed to have guns. There is no such thing as gun control. There is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a small, political elite and their minions.”

  2. Regarding “hand-to-gun” defense training in “gun-free zones”, I could rant all day over this perversion of logic. Not that I don’t think reasonable training programs are better than nothing, THEY ARE (better than nothing) – but it’s like trying to teach folks to drive nails with screwdrivers because someone forbids the use of hammers!
The one issue that bothers me most is the way our rulers, and our society, seem to ignore the risk associated with disarmament zones, and focus only on the risk posed by GUNS! (oh, by the way, most mass shootings stop only when what happens?…yes, when a good guy with a gun arrives on the scene!).
I work in a hospital in the great state of Texas, where I am forbidden by law and policy to be armed, though I am a concealed firearm license holder. Though the odds of an active shooter scenario are low, administration sees fit to put us through MANDATORY annual training, in which we learn to flee (like a coward), hide (like a coward), and failing those insightful tactics, to “fight back with whatever is available” (perhaps, a ballpoint pen: in other words, DIE).
It would seem to me that the boss has ADMITTED a dangerous situation may exist, by the requirement for mandatory training. It would seem to me that the employer has a DUTY, under OSHA, to maintain a reasonably safe work environment. It would seem to me that the offered “fix” is ENTIRELY INADEQUATE (as people usually die pending arrival of a “good guy with a gun”); therefore, this duty has been breached. Finally, it would seem to me that, in the event HARM occurs from this foreseeable event, THE EMPLOYER, NOT THE GUN, SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE AND SUED INTO OBLIVION BY SURVIVORS AND FAMILY MEMBERS OF THE DECEASED! After all, the victim’s Right to Life has been breached by policy (for how can there be a Right to Life, without a Right to Self Defense?).
I’m not advocating that ANYONE should be allowed to carry at work (though it would be a far better solution than the current one), but the fact that the employer won’t even consider an “Air Marshall”-style plan, and hires no armed guards is CRIMINAL! Only large dollar settlements will get their attention – of course, as long as they can stand on state laws, they have much better protection from the slings and arrows of justice than their innocent employees will have from high-velocity lead. Where are the 2A lawyers? Let’s see some big civil cases against the criminals who created the kill zones known as “Gun Free Zones”!!
My original point: Why do we hear virtually nothing about this angle? It’s always the gun that’s the problem (unless it’s a good guy with a gun, stopping the carnage). As you can probably guess, this is a rhetorical question… we know why we only hear about the gun.
    Thank you for your indulgence.

  3. I don’t normally post comments, but the situation in South Africa cannot be ignored. how can we help the farmers in South Africa? we need to help them get out before they are all killed. i once worked with a gentleman from South Africa who foresaw the coming storm and got his family out early,{ie about ten plus years ago}. He was a hard working and honest man who wanted better for his family. When he arrived in America he took a job that paid just 9.00 per hour and was very thankful for it. His stories about the situation in South Africa was interesting to say the least. I have not had any contact with this man in several years, but am now trying to contact him to see if all of his family has made it out alive. I plan on helping them if they need help. May God be with them.

  4. In the mid 1990’s while teaching at an adult education school I had many students from all over the world. One student was from South Africa, at the same time my son was in elementary school and learning about Africa from a visiting African teaching specialist. For an assignment my son interviewed the South African. The stories he told then of the murder, squatting and theft of land was horrific. My son taped the interview, took pictures and presented them to his class. The look on the instructors face when he saw that the South African was white was priceless. His family had lived there for centuries and were doing everything then to get out.

While in the Marines and traveling all over the world, seeing things first hand, I learned that whatever the media is telling you it is much worse than you can imagine, specially if it counters their socialist agenda.

  5. Reid has produced a lot of very informative videos. What he does even better than creating videos is train in the use of firearms for self defense. I’ve known Reid for half a dozen years and have trained under him at least that many times. I have NEVER be disappointed in any of these classes. I have seen his dedication to his students and this nation. He his a dedicated patriot and a caring teacher.

I high recommend that anyone who wants to learn more about using their tools to protect themselves, their families, and their communities attend one or more of Reid’s classes. You will learn a LOT that you did not know before. For those more experienced, you will still learn as well as refreshing knowledge and skills you already knew.

Thanks Hugh for posting Reid’s videos.
Note: I am not affiliated with Reid in any financial way, although I do count the man as a friend!

    Mike
