One of the advantages of a little hammerless revolver is that you can shoot it from your coat pocket! If a small framed lady is afraid of pulling a gun and having the bad guy take it from her then a through the clothing shot may be required. I haven’t practiced this yet, as I don’t have an extra jacket I want to ruin. Maybe someone has and can give their recommendation.
Oh, I should have said, internal hammer – not hammerless….

In answer to your question about firing through clothing:
I carried a 2″ S&W Chief’s Special .38 for over 30 years. I filed the hammer down so I could carry it in my front pants pocket. On 2 separate occasions I had to fire it this way, and I’m glad I did ! It was effective – well worth the cost of new pants.
My wife has this Tarus and loves it. She has no problem handling the recoil.
We have one each. She has no problem with the recoil and out shoots me at the range on occasion. Have +p load for our .38’s for home defense. Love this gun!
I recommend Ruger Lcr, only 13 oz., nice little gun.
