  1. When you over sized the array on the midnite kid, how hot did it get? I have two midnite 150s and i plan on expanding my array. Problem is with series connections I can either do 3 in series with two parallel which gives me around 1400 watts. A little over the max of the charge controller or 2 series 2 parallel for 900ish.
I want to squeeze out every drop but I dont want to damage them or reduce the life of the controller. All parallel is also an option but that means extra parts and fuses.
I plan on using the current limit function to lower the current to 55 amps per controller for my 1070 AH battery bank at 12 volts. Not sure if this in addition to the slight over size of the array will push the heat up.

    1. The classics will handle 1400 watts at 12v, no problem. As long as ambient temp is reasonable, and the units aren’t in direct sun, you wont have overheating problems.
