Notes for Tuesday – October 6, 2015

Folks in the Carolinas are still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Joaquin, which brought a record-breaking 15 inches of rain in 24-hours in several locales. This being called a “1,000-year rain event.” With the flooding, there are now curfews with “no firearms allowed” in effect in some South Carolina cities. Please keep the Carolinians in your prayers! Today is also the birthday of science fiction author David Brin. (born, 1950.) He wrote The Postman, a novel which was very loosely the foundation of a movie of the same name, produced by Kevin Costner.
