I have a family member who thinks preparing for any kind of disaster be it nature or chemical or whatever isn’t trusting in God.. That Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us which I to believe, but in the bible God always sent a sign or a word of what was coming so my question is How to explain to her I’m not in fear of the unknown, because you can’t be in faith and fear at the same time, I’m trying to use wisdom I would appreciate your imput

Might I suggest the example of Joseph? Did Joseph sit on his heels for the seven years of plenty expecting God to take care of him during the seven years of famine? God does provide for us, but it is not often in the form of us being couch potatoes while He waits on us hand and foot. He values a hard worker and a good steward of resources. (i.e. parable of the talents).
