I wish I could say I’ve had the same experience as you have with Squash borers. Unfortunately, each of my Tatume plants has been devastated by them. Unlike other Squash plants that have been assailed by squash borers Tatume’s manage to live through the infestation but only barely and do not produce any squash as a result.
I enjoyed reading your post about the magnificent Tatume! I had the same experience as you and try to tell every gardener I know about them. With the failures in gardening, it is so refreshing when you find a variety that works well for you! I still have tatume from last season I need to cook! I am also in Austin. Happy Gardening!!
