What if We Win?, by CPT F.T.

When all is said and done, there is much more said than done.

This will be the first of many quotes that I did not come up with and will not reference or footnote because I’m not trying to get a passing grade on an essay but am trying to communicate a few ideas that I think may be germane to our culture.

With all the survival and instructional blogs (this one being the capstone by which all others are measured) and web sites pontificating and gesturing broadly about what to do when (fill in the blank with assorted and sundry current crisis) you don’t really another adding to that collection so I will spare the reader those ideas.

I will, however, put forth some ideas regarding a subject that has been largely ignored, that is; What to do if we actually win?

You all now the three boxes that we go through on the way to revolution. Soapbox, Ballot Box and very very lastly Ammo Box. (I told you I’d be using quotes not my own). I’ll talk about the first two.

SurvivalBlog (and others like it) naturally are the first box and I am late to the party. In fact, I’ve been reluctant to speak up as there are so many of you more eloquent than I am and I was afraid I’d just add to the cacophony of noise.

So, on our Soapbox, we stood up, and shouted to all that would pass this way that same message.

TURN And RETURN

“….if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”      2 Chronicles 7:14

Turn to Christ, return to our heritage, return to our history, return to informed thought, return to law and order, return to the church, family, community, common sense, logic and hope.

It seems that our culture and alas even the church ( sorry but I have to keep use a small “c” here) is doing anything but this, in fact all seem to be running in the opposite way at a breakneck speed. This too should not surprise us.

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”   2 Timothy 4:3

So for all our effort and genuine attempts to convert the populous they have become completely tone deaf to any ideas but the those espoused by the ones with the loudest megaphone, I’ll group them all Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, CNN etc,, etc. under my favorite heading “the Kardashians. (or if you prefer Barbarians) The Kardashians are winning because the populace loves darkness and despise thinking. As a result our soggy Soapbox is collapsing under the weight of moral convenience and is no longer effective to the masses.

The next box Ballot Box is of course the one that we think should promise the most direct and immediate outcome.

There is no doubt that the outcome of the election in November will decide the course of the balance of most of our lifetimes. If the side of Law and Order win, we can expect more hate-filled impeachment investigations and general vitriol from the left (Side bar…why is it considered okay to be so rude to each other?) but law and order will remain. The opportunity to maintain these United States of America will still be possible.

But what will we do with it? What if we win, will we demand our representatives (notice I did not say leaders they are there to vote in our stead) to hold to the rule of law and return to “equal justice under the law”? Or will we see them continue to tolerate the disgraceful display of violence, looting, destruction of property and rewriting of history?

Will any true leader emerge to have the courage to face evil or will they continue to conveniently dismiss it for the sake of their petty serfdoms?

My fear is that few will dare stand in the face of evil for fear of being labeled a (fill in the blank with whatever the most nasty thing you can be called today and risk losing your sponsors, voters, daytime TV hosting slot…whatever).

Heaven does not turn a blind eye to this, and neither should we.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Isaiah 5:20

My fear about putting my hope in a mere political solution is there are few and fewer leaders that are even aware that our freedom and our rights are gift from God alone, not endowments from a benevolent government.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…”

Our Framers and the subsequent generations understood this well. Until about 1973 or so we continued to cherish Life and Liberty (a case can still be made that most are pursuing happiness albeit it in foul and destructive ways)

I digress a bit, but we must acknowledge that the destruction of the innocent on the altar of convenience is little different than the pagans of antiquity. A society and a culture can only be judged by the way they treat their children, is it any wonder God has turned away from us?

“When you offer your gifts—the sacrifice of your children in the fire—you continue to defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. Am I to let you inquire of me, you Israelites? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will not let you inquire of me.” Ezekiel 20:31

So if peradventure God shows us more of His great mercy, that we do not deserve, and Law and Order win, will we simply breathe a sigh of relief and continue counting on our 401-K for deliverance or will we turn to Him as previous generations did and humbly and greatly acknowledge our complete and total dependence on Him?

Will we embrace and seek to understand the differences and legitimate grievances between the races and cultures that make up our great county and look for opportunities to serve them?

Will we look to bridge the gap that divides us, or will we simply move further away physically and psychologically and hope to see if we can outrun the problems…and most of all the unwashed masses?

Our Responsibility

You see these problems are ours, they belong to us. Why you ask? Because we allowed a system that has systematically outsourced education, compassion, and nurturing of our fellow citizens of lesser means to Godless Government programs that have reduced them to the worst type of existence, a daily kind of ungratefulness that feeds on envy, hate and rage.

All because we did not want to get our hands dirty and were more than happy to allow a government program and a small bump in taxes to keep “them” out of our neighborhood.

In the process we have robbed generations of the joy of accomplishment, productivity, self- respect and the very real “pursuit of happiness”. I rather suspect this is type of pursuit our framers had in mind.

Our framers pledged “their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor” to forge this Republic. Our fathers, grandfathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, and cousins retained it again and again with their blood sweat and tears on and off the battlefield.

If we win, what our frail Republic will need most is not a group of pseudo-patriots that will spike the ball for a 2-bit sound bite, and then move further away to avoid Christian responsibilities.

What we will require a new set of Patriots that will make a stand for truth and justice, that will exhibit the kind of courage necessary to challenge falsehood in all of its forms.

We will need those quiet heroes that will share their lives their fortunes and their sacred honor with those that have maligned us and vehemently disagreed with us. Paul speaking through the Holy Spirit said it this way.

“14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.[c] Do not be conceited.

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:14-21

Not much grey aera here so quit looking for any.

Looking for a place to start? Begin by visiting a local church that is radically different from yours. If you are a white conservative Presbyterian visit a Black Holiness or Pentecostal church. You will discover that you have much more in common that you have differences.

You will most likely also discover a place that needs what you know how to do. They will need mentors for young fatherless boys, they will need someone to take the kids fishing or boating. They will need someone to help fix the plumbing in the nursery or fix the roof on a widow’s home. They will need someone the change the oil in a single mom’s car. Maybe even someone that can teach a little American history.

You get the idea; you are probably the answer to some of these needs.

It is your Christian responsibility to pursue those in need…just like Jesus pursued all of us to give us the thing we needed most Himself.

Here is a little story to remind you.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

  1. Thanks for this. Agree wholeheartedly. Was thinking the response is to physically prepare pt and supplies, spiritualy/intellectually train up in apologetics, then act political by doing as this article suggest and remove the state as an idol.

    You are on-target that it is about doing our individual duty to God and our neighbors, and that no patriotic “victory” is really that, unless it includes a personal, real, lived-out, daily, active dedication to our duties. Our dereliction is what has brought us to today’s precipice; only true repentance can pull us back.

  3. You did not mention the jury box…which probably belong somewhere after the ballot box, yet before the ammo box. That said, given the unpredictable nature of decisions, we may very well be ending the useful time for that as well.

    The United States is in that awkward stage where it is too late to work within the system, yet too early to Boogaloo.

      Do you think the simultaneous collapse of American Pacific shipping-port cities — Los Angeles, frisco, Portland, Seattle — is a coincidence?

  4. If we are talking about a post civil war adjustment or something similar then the first course of action should be to clarify the true meaning of the Bill of Rights.

    As an example, the First Amendment concerns free speech. To me, that means we can stand in the town square and peaceably discuss our grievances concerning our government. This does NOT allow pornography, vulgarity, threats or slander.

    The Second Amendment could be clarified although it is already clear to anyone that is not subversive (commies, democrats, socialists and their ilk). A reference to the modern military weapon “of the day” should be included.

    In Colonial times unusual punishment consisted of restraining an individual in the town square for minor infractions. This has been bastardized into any pro criminal scenario that modern lawyers can create. This clause surely did not apply to the death penalty because that extreme penalty was in effect.

    I could go on and on.

    The enemies of America said they will use our rights against us and they made it happen.

      Hi Tom, thanks for starting that out with “To me…” and I respect your opinion.

      The word “vulgar” is a very interesting word. What is vulgar is strictly a matter of opinion and when you understand the word origin, I gladly consider myself a vulgar person. It’s originally from the from Latin “vulgaris” meaning “of or pertaining to the common people.” Many plant and animal names have “vulgaris” as their species name because it means “common.” For example, Beta vulgaris is the scientific name of the common beet. The origin of the word “vulgar” as most people use it today was when snooty upper-class people wanted to look down their noses at us deplorables. Anything the deplorables did was “vulgar,” meaning it was what the commoners did. When one upper-class snoot wanted to insult another upper class snoot, they said that what they were doing was vulgar, or of the commoners, implying that they the Chosen Ones shouldn’t be acting like commoners. For that reason, what is considered vulgar in modern times is strictly an opinion of the individual.

      I do have to disagree with you on pornography. If a woman who is old enough to sign a contract wants to have herself photographed in order to make money, then that is her right to do that and she is not violating anyone else’s rights in the process. Anyone who hates pornography doesn’t have to buy it. Likewise if she wants to sell her services as a prostitute, that should be her right since she is using her private property in a way that is not harming others. My problem with most Americans is that they either just plain don’t like the idea of freedom, which is the majority, or they want what I call Jim Croce freedom, “Let him live in freedom, IF he lives like me.” Freedom definitely has some negative consequences, and most people have a hard time dealing with that concept, but the consequences are far fewer than the consequences of every other form of government that’s been tried. A glance at the condition of Amerika these days is ample proof of that.

      Had the Constitution been written with Freedom in mind, the whole idea of a Bill of Rights would have been unnecessary. The Constitution was a good first try, but hasn’t withstood the test of time.

      1. Liberty cannot survive in a society of fallen men and women without civility, a moral code, and laws that govern the rules of the road. By definition, this may restrict some degree of total or absolute freedom. I would agree with the idea of a “least restrictive approach” (which does not mean a free-for-all), but what you propose leads to a society governed by predatory bullies.

        1. T of A: I find myself in agreement with St Funogas.

          We already live in a society governed by “predatory bullies”. Our “Nation of laws, not of men” has created that society and the predatory bullies that govern it. When asked how many guns are enough, we (the preparedness community) say, just one more. When we ask our predatory bullies how many laws are enough, they say, just one more. Just one more restriction on liberty, just one more restriction on your choices, just one more restriction on your free will. Just one more law is never enough. Just one more law is just one more opportunity to do evil.

          The civility, moral code, and even those laws you mention comes to us from the Christian Bible or the Hebrew Bible (the Tanakh). We really don’t need man’s law to dictate to us how we should think and act. We really don’t need man’s interpretation of God’s law to give us our moral code. God did a pretty good job of interpreting His law, all by Himself.

          God gave us free will for a reason. So, that woman (or man) who chooses to engage in pornographic acts or, for that matter, prostitution, has the God given free will to make those choices. If there is force used and the actions of the participants are not voluntary, government has a role; to prevent the use of force and only to prevent the use of force. As long as no force is used and the actions of both parties are purely voluntary, then here has been no crime and no need for just one more law. The actions of the individuals are between themselves and between themselves and God. I don’t see a place for government there at all.

          1. I would challenge the idea that there is much in the way of “free will” in the matter of pornography. I would further suggest that people who believe there is “free will” are lacking information about the cruel and criminal realities of that demonically possessed world, and the ways it influences our culture far beyond the dark recesses in which pornography resides. It is my belief that this is not an example of the Biblical version of “free will”.

        Thanks for the reply. Perhaps my reference should have been the word obscene instead of vulgar.

        My reference to pornography needs to be clarified. Modern motion pictures, television and the internet have gone beyond decency and can be viewed by children very easily. It is not just adult to adult in-private stuff. There seems to be no control or supervision of product on the main airwaves.

        My point is there is a logical limit to to freedom but some push those limits to the extreme because of ulterior motives.

        The next freedom related question is “are there no limits”?

        All is food for thought. And, by the way, I am no prude by any stretch. But I do have a sense of what is right and wrong for society.

          I agree that TV and movies have gone beyond decency for many people but IMO it’s always wrong to take away the rights and freedom of one group of people because another group is offended. That’s the Jim Croce freedom I referred to, “Let them live in freedom IF they live like me.”

          People can protect their children from most of it but they choose not to because the sacrifice would be too great and they are not willing to make that sacrifice, even for their children. My wife and I gladly made that sacrifice. When my children were growing up, we had no TV and we never watched movies of any kind, not even G-rated Disney movies because that is a very slippery slope. Just like everything else that is illegal, people will find ways to do and produce “indecent” things anyway. I can’t think of any exceptions to that rule.

          In her comment, T of A was confusing Freedom with anarchy. With anarchy, yes, it’s bad because there are no limits. With Freedom, there is only one limit: I am free to do whatever I wish with my private property (my body being the most important part of my property) as long as I am not initiating violence. Violence means using force, but it also means violating another person’s right to their private property. People can’t grasp what a free society would look like because their minds are too clouded by the only thing they’ve ever known, which is the mess we have today.

          What is right and wrong for society is problematic because it’s based purely on opinion and goes right back to Jim Croce freedom. IMO the best thing for society would be a Free society, not the mess every other form of government created. Freedom has consequences like pornography, drugs, alcohol, car accidents, lung cancer, etc. With anarchy, nobody is ever punished. In a truly free society, the only people punished are those who initiate violence as defined above. I’m willing to bet that every single traffic ticket you ever got was for something that violated no one’s rights. The state stole your money as a consequence and that’s just not right IMO. There’s a way to have very safe highways that don’t include that kind of thievery by the government.

          All the protesting and rioting going on right now would not be happening if we had a truly free society. The current problems are ALL a result of the socialism we’ve been living under for too many years.

          People are just not wiling to give freedom a chance because they’ve never really thought it through or understood what it entails. As a former brain-washed Republican, I can state that for a fact.

      3. I cannot disagree more strongly with the commenter St. Funogas concerning pornography and his treatment of freedom. To begin with, this article is talking about clarifying the Bill of Rights, a declaration of our inalienable rights, which are rights granted to us by God. These are not simple prudential judgments as to what crimes are punishable by the state and to what extent. It is therefore repugnant to suggest that God grants us a right to disobey him and his moral laws. He gives us free will, and he may permit us to disobey him, but he does not give us a right to do so. For if he gave us such a right, how could he be just in punishing the iniquitous or rewarding the righteous?

        Concerning pornography, Christ is very clear when he states that one who looks upon a woman with lust in his heart has already committed adultery with her. Pornography is therefore part of that evil which is condemned by the ten commandments.

        It is likewise repugnant to the moral law to say that one is free to do anything that does no violence to another. Again, whether the state should punish a particular moral violation and to what extent it punishes it is a separate and prudential decision. I am rather addressing the principle that is being asserted with respect to inalienable rights and the meaning of freedom. To the contrary, freedom means being free from the evil things that hold us back in order to choose that which is good. Being free in the political sense means the state does not impose laws that force or entice us to do evil (or condone evil) or that prevent us from doing good. Since our inalienable rights have been granted to us by God (for the purpose of using them for good, I might add), the state cannot violate them in a free society, whether they are enumerated in our Constitution or not.

        Pornography is opposed to freedom because it is an evil that interferes with man’s achieving his good and final end, namely God himself. It is an encumbrance to virtue; its use makes us less good and less virtuous. It even makes society worse! Further, pornography is anything but a victimless crime. A woman may freely consent to exploit herself, but that does not change the fact that she is being exploited. It just makes it worse because she is complicit. Those who view pornography intentionally are quickly led to the slavery of addiction. Such a state is not one of freedom. Those who come in contact with pornography unintentionally (who says only those who buy porn or consent to see it are the only ones who encounter it these days?) are frequently weakened if not scandalized themselves (i.e. led into sin).

You are so right… Among our biggest challenges is the fact that the populace loves darkness, and “few will dare to stand in the face of evil”. The message you are conveying is profoundly important, and could not be more timely.

  6. I disagree with the premise of this article. Our society & nation are well past any chance of returning to the past. That 2 Chronicles 7:14 verse has been used for several generations now, while the Supreme Court continues to crank out anti-God and anti-Christian decisions, proving that the USA is a post-Christian nation. Do we truly think the courts will reverse course on gay marriage or GLBT rights? If my grandparents saw what our society is like now, they’d consider moving away. Paul’s letter to the church in Rome, was written to believers living in the Roman empire which was not known to be friendly to Scripture or God. In fact, the Romans blamed the Christians for various problems & made sport of lions eating Christians in the stadium. The Christendom period in American ended several generations ago. Every denomination in this nation, is losing members & declining. In this post-Christian period, there will be no special rights or respected role for Christians or the church. Scriptures call us to serve & love others as their servants. Prepare for life in the US to get harder. I respect the rights of those who disagree with me, and I appreciate the same in return.   7. I love the Constitution, I love the bill of rights, I love what are founding fathers attempted to give us! I say attempted because our Republic was founded on a ‘cracked’ foundation. “ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL” except Blacks, Indians, women etc. I do understand the limitations placed upon that honorable body of men, but, a crack is a crack. If it would have said “ALL HUMANS ARE CREATED EQUAL” and we stood by that conviction we would not be in the situation we are today.

    Benjamin Franklin was asked, “Sir, what form of government have you given us?”, his reply ” A Republic, if you can keep it.” or words to that affect. Those a paraphrases not direct quotes.

    I believe all things are used by the Almighty to strengthen the spirit of mankind. This is our test, this is our time we will have to answer for our sins of commission and our sins of omission.

      1. All men are created equal; naked, helpless, and dependent. All women are created equal; naked, helpless, and dependent. Beyond that point there are too many variables involved with each person’s life for outcomes to be equal. There won’t be an equality of outcomes, what the socialists claim to desire, unless individuality is destroyed.

        Our Lord and Savior never promoted giving up our individuality, never. Giving up our individuality would makes us all soulless automatons, robots. Without individuality our choice to live as much of a Christlike existence as we are capable of, disappears. It’s called free will. Without free will, the freedom to choose our own path disappears, our freedom to choose Christ disappears, our existence becomes meaningless. God is very libertarian, He gave us free will for a reason.

        1. Charles K… You make excellent points regarding individuality, and I would agree with you. Having said that… I do not believe Biblical Free Will is involved in any pornographic enterprise.

          Further, I would suggest to you that consumers of pornography have no way to confirm the Free Will they seem to believe exists among the participants (understanding that there are others who simply do not care and are predatory through and through).

          Pornography creates the spiritual version of a metastatic cancer in our society. It’s a very poor example of Free Will.

  8. This is a pleasant notion, but not very realistic.

    If we win the election, we still haven’t won the argument, nor will we be in a position then to implement the policies you propose.

    At this point, given the dichotomy present in our society, we can only get there via the battle box. We are right back where we were in 1776, dealing with a tyranny. In this case, it is not a monarchy, it is a hidden oligarchy. You are not going to remove them without force. They have well played the differences that have turned us against each other. George Lucas could not have written a more beguiling tale of subterfuge.

    There will be blood. There must be blood. The Israelites were not able to cohabit with those already inhabiting Canaan. When they tried, they failed, and God punished them. We are not a multi-cultural society, and we need to quit pushing that paradigm. We are one culture, American. It may have many facets, but it is unique and can only function exclusively. We can incorporate other cultural elements, that is one of the unique dynamics of our culture. This “cultural appropriation” nonsense has to stop. This “privilege” and “inherent victim” nonsense has to stop. It will not end without conflict.

  9. I think benjamin has a good point. Our side wants to be left alone with freedom to live, worship, work, etc. as our Lord and the Constitution provide for. The other side want to radically change and control the way we live. For all my research I can’t find any common ground with the current leftist politicians in power, especially those vying to win the next elections.

      This has, historically, been a problem for Conservatives, Republicans, and Libertarians. Leftists always demand compromise meaning movement to the left in any negotiation when they are in the minority. When they are the majority decision makers, they demand even greater movement to the left.

      This cannot be allowed to continue, and in fact, the practices of governing Conservatives, Republicans (generally), and Libertarians must adjust accordingly.

        You are correct!

        In my experience, there is a pendulum.
        As it is pushed further from its natural resting place, it stores energy.
        After enough energy builds in an out-of-balance situation, the pendulum automatically inevitably returns to its resting place.

        And, as tilted pendulums are wont to do as they seek their natural resting place, the influencers pushing it to the unnatural out-of-balance position are destroyed by the out-of-balance energy they helped store.

        The pushers of these last eleven decades forced their pendulum so far from its natural resting place, they cannot possibly hold it there without enormous expenditures of energy they don’t possess.
        Why?
        A closed system — such as a planet without a space-faring population — simply doesn’t contain enough energy to perpetually force a pendulum into an out-of-balance position.

        Of course, a space-faring population can harvest minerals and other riches from distant sources to temporarily prop-up the pendulum and ‘kick the can down the road’, but holding a pendulum in an out-of-balance position is always a dead-end road.

        Who is pushing the ‘freedom’ pendulum from its natural resting place?
        A few come to mind:
        * Communists.
        * Fascists.
        * Totalitarians.
        * TheRulingElites.

        * bureaucrats of all colors.

        Why do I see so few freedom lovers joining the political war?

  10. We speak of doing the right thing, of feeding our enemies, of forgiving them. I for one believe that this will convert a certain amount, but true enemies, those who believe only in destruction, rape, and pillage, have turned from the lord, and in following Satan’s dictates are beyond redemption. Could they be redeemed – of course, but they would need to ask our Lord for forgiveness. Something that I don’t see happening. And something that is beyond my purview.

    “What if we win?” Unfortunately, if we win will probably not look a lot different than if we don’t. You are going to wind up with a 50-50 split among the states, as we know it will be a close election. You are going to have Republican states and Democrat states, except after this election you will have an even deeper divide between them. They will be more polarized than ever before.

    If Trump wins you will have states that openly defy anything that comes from the government. If Biden wins, you will have states that refuse to follow him. Just your second amendment alone will cause a great divide among the states. People will vote with their feet, moving out of, or into areas where their beliefs are represented. And the polarization will become worse, as the ideas and beliefs become more entrenched.

    “What if we win?” I don’t think anybody is going to “WIN” in the present circumstances. The best we can do is try to save ourselves and our families. Help our friends and communities. And pray.

    1. The Lone Canadian, you raise some good points. However, I didn’t interpret the title -“What if we win”- to refer to winning the presidential election. I thought it referred to winning our nation & society back to the Judeo-Christian God. For Trump to win the election, is more more realistic & doable, than winning our society back to God. I do agree that there will be controversy & open defying the govt, no matter who wins. This election is going to be a huge test of whether we can still have a peaceful election.

Parts , or regions maybe, but never the nation. Both our countries have gone too far down the rabbit hole. We have been tolerant, and forgiving, and helping to a fault, and all it has done is made us a minority worthy of nothing more than contempt from the other side.

        And IF we were to become a nation/society of a Judeo-Christian God, what of those that don’t believe as we do? What happens to them? Heck, we can’t even get together on the “Judeo-Christian God” part of it. We’ve got Baptists, and Mormons, and Catholics, and Pentecostals, etc. etc. etc. This has always been my issue with organized/established religions – each seems to think that ONLY they are right, to the exclusion of all others. As somebody famous once said, ” Chances are heaven is going to be a lot more sparsely populated than most would think.” And I think a lot will be in for a big surprise come judgement day.

        The good news is that President Trump has been more effective than any President before him in reeling back the advances of the Communist-Marxist Left. We are headed in the right direction.     1. Ephesians was such an opener for me in my study group. It’s a great book for these trying times. You can see the “big picture” there.
      Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
      And it will tell you how to put on the the armor of God.

  12. I agree we as Christians need to be doing Gods work regardless of what happens to this country. God has a plan for this country, whether for judgement or blessing, it is His perfect will. We need to be sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ at every opportunity. God has a plan for this country and this present world which ends with the book of Revelation and we know who has the victory. While there are physical manifestations, this is ultimately a spiritual battle. The only way to win is by obeying out Lord’s commands, staying continually in prayer and keep studying the Bible. Matthew 28:19,20

Some that I have meant love pointing to the mote and ignoring the beam. Some even acknowledge their wicked ways, and start to turn, but do not seek the Lord. Prayer is a good thing.

  14. Well said, Captain. I have been thinking along these same lines recently, and the Quote of the Day pairs nicely with your essay. We, like others in previous generations, have been reluctant to take the fateful step, enduring the long train of abuses and usurpations thrust upon us. There is coming a point of no return (and perhaps is already passed), and while serious thought and discussion should be made about the tactical theater, we must not overlook the strategic theater.
    For too long, our opponents have labeled us, defined us, and have therefore set the table of verbal engagement. What are “conservatives” supposedly “conserving”? What values and guiding principles will be the foundation of what comes after? Our winning will not be this election, although I am more optimistic than I was in April.
    In order to sustain us in the fight to come, we must have a compelling vision of what we desire. What will draw people to our side, which will help them overcome the inertia of normalcy bias? What articulate vision will sustain the counter-insurgent in the cold, wet night of the slog? What unifying picture will bring non-theist libertarians and Bible believing Constitutionalists to set aside real differences to work for a common purpose?
    In 2 Kings, Hezekiah is told that he will soon die. Because of his previous faithfulness and his prayer, God grants him healing and the knowledge that his nation will be preserved during his lifetime. I, for one, cannot be content with that. I’d rather that the conflict come in my generation. I don’t know if a younger generation will have the fortitude and wisdom to resist. Let the conflict come. Let the struggle be in our time. Let our children and grandchildren know the fruit of our sacrifice and labor, rather than them curse us for being content with peace and security as night falls.

  17. I copied this some days ago and it fits the topic today. However, consider we do not win and Biden and his administration orders confiscation of Americans’ guns. Anyway; here is a possible outcome; thanks to James Rawles for posting it weeks ago.

  18. I endorse the idea of going to a church radically different than yours. It can’t be any church and you can’t just go, you can’t just volunteer, you need to get to know the congregation. You need to hear their stories, you need to feel their lives, you need to learn about their relationships with God, you need to know them and their lives. A black evangelical church would be best for many white evangelicals or a liberal christian church would also open your eyes, though in a different way.

    I work in a racially diverse workforce, educated, service oriented, and responsible. One of my good friends is black, born again Christian, was on a bad road until he found God, but now he’s active in his church (black evangelical), leads choir, been a deacon, leads a bible study, and takes the bible as the exact word of God. He talks the talk, and more than most people I know, he walks the walk. For him its all about bringing people to Christ, bringing people to the joy of faith and salvation, bringing people into the church family and community. He tries to emulate Christ, and if done right, its not an easy road, especially for those with wealth. Sure, he has his flaws, his sins, even some failures, but they don’t interfere with his message or how he treats others. Know that he doesn’t sound or act like most of the white conservative Christians I know or read about in the news.

    I see many conservative Christians who talk the talk, but they only walk the walk so far, and 1/2 the talk is out the side of their mouth, choosing the bible verses that support their prejudices, hate, fears, and greed instead of the teachings of Christ. Their concerns, faith, religious practices and politics are not designed to bring people to Christ, or even to live as Christ commanded, and instead scare away many.

  19. I’m beginning to believe that a “diverse society” is not capable of maintaining Liberty as our Founders envisioned it. Not to say that we should not be diverse: the U.S. may, indeed, suffer from a major part of who we are as Americans – “we lift our lamp beside the Golden Door” (apologies to Ms. Lazarus). It may be possible that freedom enjoyed during the first century of America’s history, and at times after the Civil War, had more to do with our natural Western European, Judeo-Christian heritage than with our form of government. With that natural basis gone, the Constitution is just faded ink on paper.
    Perhaps we are the inevitable victims of our own goodness.
    Pure Libertarianism is very attractive, but I fear it is as much a pipe-dream as the Leftists’ vision of “Utopia”. It requires voluntary compliance…or as I once read, (paraphrased, wish I could attribute, but don’t remember) – a free society requires restraint, and the only form of restraint that is compatible with freedom is SELF RESTRAINT. Apparently, this is too much to hope for, when The People no longer share a common, natural, baseline ideology. Sad.
    Sorry, I’m a bit discouraged.
