The Big Hack: How China Used a Tiny Chip to Infiltrate U.S. Companies

In a widely circulated Bloomberg article: “The attack by Chinese spies reached almost 30 U.S. companies, including Amazon and Apple, by compromising America’s technology supply chain, according to extensive interviews with government and corporate sources.”

Stay Away From Crowded Places

SurvivalBlog reader “Awakened in Virginia” penned this insightful commentary on current events:

In watching the Kavanaugh circus, and the clown show that is the US Congress, I’m surprised at the level of hatred and venom from the left. This has made me realize the depth of danger decent people face in these days. Of course, the root issue with Kavanaugh is the possibility that Roe v. Wade will be overturned or limited, perhaps correcting a decades old legislation-from-the-bench debacle, but also eliminating a perceived “right” of liberals. If Mr. K. is confirmed, you know many states and localities will immediately pass laws and regulations to generate test cases for the Supreme Court. It won’t be two years before the first challenge reaches the court. If Roe is overturned, the petulent crybabies on the left will take to the streets in violence, I’m sure you will agree.

That’s an easy prediction. But wait! There’s more!

You see, Stalin killed millions of his own citizens, but he didn’t know many personally. Same with Mao, Hitler, Castro, and all the socialists of the 20th century.

However, since 1973, liberals have killed 60 million of their own children. Do you think for a minute they would hesitate to kill conservatives or libertarians?

I always envisioned the horde as a bunch of hungry people, looting and pillaging to fill their own stomachs. Now I realize we have bred possibly 100 million morality-free liberals who have been trained through Hollywood violence, video game violence, and abortion clinic violence to have zero respect for life. It is now even more important for those of us who are prepared to keep a low profile, stay out of crowds, stay away from indefensible and confined areas, and not become another tick in the casualty column.

The Zombie Apocalypse is a most dangerous thing when the zombies look just like us, work with us, shop with us, and live next door.

Thanks for all you do, and for sticking with the philosophy even in these seemingly good times.

Bad News: Initiative 1639 in Washington

After the courts through out a challenge on petitioning irregularities, the monumentally bad Initiative 1639 is back on the ballot in Washington.  I encourage the citizens of Washington to please do everything you can do defeat the initiative in the upcoming election.

Please send your news tips to HJL. (Either via e-mail of via our Contact form.) These are often especially relevant, because they come from folks who watch news that is important to them. Due to their diligence and focus, we benefit from fresh “on target” news. We often “get the scoop” on news that is most likely ignored (or reported late) by mainstream American news outlets. Thanks!

  1. Re: Stay Away From Crowded Places

‘Awakened in Virginia’ writes, the ”most dangerous thing when the zombies look just like us, work with us, shop with us, and live next door.” This explains why Civil War II will be much different.

  2. Civil War II? Call me Pollyana, but, except in an alternate universe, I am confident that conditions in this country will not deteriorate to the point where we engage in serious violence on a massive scale. The difference between today and the conflict in the 1860s is that we are no longer divided along state lines where neighbors are of one mind.

Do I see a possibility that violence like the violence of the Weather Underground in the 1960s could return? Of course. Isolated terrorist acts could cause huge social disruption, but the actual carnage or physical results would be relatively small.

As in the ’60s, I would expect that the violence would come from the Left. If so, I do not see conservatives striking back, or even knowing where to strike. As in the ’60s, against whom would they strike? The bombers like Bernadette Dohrn and Bill Ayers didn’t exactly maintain front lines or occupy terrorist headquarters with anti-Vietnam war “peace flags” flying high above them.

While wearing a MAGA hat can get one punched in the mouth in some neighborhoods. I simply do not anticipate the return of Missouri-Kansas border wars with neighbors burning out other neighbors in the middle of the night. While the Kavanaugh hearing lured protesters who were vocal, obnoxious, and hateful, it was clear that most of them would be useless to the Left in a situation where serious violence occurred. (I, myself, live surrounded by Hillary people, but I expect that, other than the only other conservative on my block, I am the only one who has guns. The rest are law and order “let-the- authorities-handle-it” types.)

Libs have brought much of the current hate/discontent on themselves with the sexual accusations against Brett Kavanaugh. When all else was failing in their effort to keep another conservative from being appointed to the court, Feinstein, Booker, Harris, et al., used gutter tactics in desperation.

Having seen this, I am hoping that the Republican base rallies now and heads to the polls. Perhaps another two or three Republican senators from Red States can be added to the Senate majority after Democrats are seen for what they are. Rise up, Hoosiers! Rise up, Tennesseans! Rise up, Montanans! Rise up, North Dakotans!

Ginsburg’s days on the Supreme Court are numbered. When she does depart from the court it will cause most Libs to cry themselves to sleep each night, given that an even stronger Republican senatorial majority will make the process of appointing another conservative Constitutionalist much easier.

    Vote in November!!!

      1. I suppose that if you were inclined to go all “Timothy McVeigh,” then finding targets would be easy.

If, on the other hand, you were inclined to strike back at Antifa-types, you would have an awful lot of mothers’ basements to search before you found them.

    1. Even in the first civil war there were people in the north and the South that travelled and fought for the other side. Things were not homogenous in each state.

      1. I agree that there were a few who went south and who went north because they shared different sentiments than their ardent neighbors. Yet, in the Deep South or in New England, the sentiments were almost universally on one side.

After 9/11, some young men volunteered to go to war. Most Americans, however, simply went to the mall.

The average American has no stomach for a fight, regardless of what is involved. I saw a person’s comment on one web site in which he said that, according to the National World War II Museum, two-thirds of those who served in WWII were drafted. So, even when the “forces of light” were involved in a struggle to the death against “the forces of darkness,” most Americans did not volunteer to fight. Just as it was after 9/11, the call of pizza, beer, and a girlfriend was more powerful for most young men.

Today, while they perform critical jobs in the nation’s miitary, with few exceptions, those who join the Navy or the Air Force join to be simply technicians, not combatants for which the immediate loss of life and limb is a serious possibility.

Many Americans admire war heroes, but very few will willingly put themselves in situations where they could ever be one, no matter what the fight is about, whether it be a Civil War II or a World War II. All of this bluster about taking the fight to radical Left comes mostly from keyboard commandos–legends in their own minds. I suppose that you could call it a harmless fantasy if they kept it to themselves.

The vast majority of individuals shrink from danger. As a result, Samuel Johnson got it right when he said, “Every man thinks meanly of himself for not having been a soldier, or not having been at sea.”

  3. A lot of attention has been paid to Kavanaugh and his position on Roe vs Wade and use that to explain the hostility towards him. I disagree. in reviewing the rulings of Kavanaugh he has stood out repeatedly on his rulings on a much more important issue; immigration. in his rulings on immigration, Kavanaugh ruled on the side of the constitution, common sense and the American citizen as opposed to ruling in favor of immigrants and those that profit from them. All of the other judges on Trump’s short list of nominees are actually quite bad on immigration. This is why the confirmation of Kavanaugh was so important and why those billionaire open border globalists who are funding the opposition opposed him so much. Immigration is how the globalists are winning and will replace us and the game is almost over.
Kavanaugh’s confirmation could slow them down. It is a great day for America.

  4. Mr. 42 School Buses has quite a “shelter”. The glimpses featured on the video showed a lot of rust and grime. I’ll take my chances here.

My biggest question is, “How did he fund this and support his family while building the complex? You might say I am a “follow the money” kind of fella.

    Carry on.

  5. 1639 is the perfect excuse to top up your collection just in case it passes. If you have been thinking about a new pistol or one of those “cosmetically challenged” long rifles…Now is the time to do it.
At a minimum purchase a stripped lower for a modular long rifle. In this case the lower is “the Part” that requires paperwork. Have it/them transferred as “other”… you can then build them at your leisure into the configuration you want. These can be had for as little as $40, and in some cases the shipping is free.
Our local dealer will transfer up to 4 units with one fee, so $40×4+$35 =$195. Now divide that by 4 and you get $48.75 a pop. Add sales tax… And you should be at about +-$55.
With this logic, can you afford not to?

  6. There was a time when I would have said, the very idea of Civil War II was just silly, but the profound hate I have seen in some liberal friends and family makes me wonder.

I was neither for or against Kavanaugh, but I believe Ford was a paid actress! I also believe her and her lawyer deserve an FBI investigation to determine what funds changed hands.

This is America and everyone has a right to their opinion, but not according to liberals and feminists. In the end, several left a family dinner mad and they will not be invited back!

Richard Bach was right! The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life. I do not respect anyone without basic morals and they are not a joy to be around!

For me it was a moment of illumination! Blood may be thinker than water, but not politics! Fewer people to feel responsible for and a brand new will! So Be It!

  7. Saw online: “Dear America: You are waking up, as Germany once did, to the awareness that 1/3 of your people would kill another 1/3, while 1/3 watches.”

  8. Watching the screaming and crying of people who are so worried about abortion laws changing. It wasn’t a stretch to imagine California liberals lying on a witness stand. Doing whatever it takes to keep this strange right legal in their twisted thinking. If morals and values are not there? Lying when testifying shouldn’t be a big deal. Just look at the shenanigans going on about withholding evidence. Then presenting it at the last moment. This has just shown anyone listening what we are up against. I write often about wanting to see a great debate where political ideology is presented, show the country where each party sees us going into the future. On national TV in the evening. we have a war of ideals going on and I can’t see the liberal left winning in the light.
