SurvivalBlog’s News From The American Redoubt

This weekly column features news stories and event announcements from around the American Redoubt region. (Idaho, Montana, eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, and Wyoming.) Much of the region is also more commonly known as The Inland Northwest. We also mention companies of interest to preppers and survivalists that are located in the American Redoubt region. Today, we focus on the Forrest Fenn treasure hunt that ended successfully in Wyoming. (See the Wyoming section.)

Region-Wide

Do you notice the “hole” in this COVID-19 map?  It looks a lot like the boundaries of the American Redoubt, to me. Here in the Redoubt, I suspect that the increased suicide rate and deaths from undiagnosed heart disease, cancer, and long-postponed surgeries (of folks afraid to visit their local doctors and hospitals) far outnumber the pandemic deaths.

Bend Real Estate Sales Were Exceptional in July 2020. Here is a snippet:\

“Ask any Bend real estate agent what is the situation with Bend home sales and they will tell you there is a severe lack of inventory. Many listings receive multiple offers, pushing the price up and discouraging buyers who lose out. Cash buyers have an upper hand, especially as prices reach a place where there is doubt the property will appraise. We are seeing new listings hitting the market at prices which just 6 months ago would have been unheard of… “

Wyoming

Author says his treasure was found in Wyoming. The article begins:

“Though much mystery still surrounds Forrest Fenn’s decade-long treasure hunt, the 89-year-old entrepreneur says the treasure was found in Wyoming.

“Because I promised the finder I would not reveal who found it or where, I have remained mostly silent,” Fenn recently penned on a blog dedicated to the 10-year search for the treasure. “However, the finder understands how important some closure is for many searchers, so today [July 22] he agreed that we should reveal that the treasure was found in Wyoming.”

Fenn has said he hid a bronze chest filled with gold and jewels worth more than $1 million in the Rocky Mountain wilderness. In late July, he gave up the state in which it was found on Dal Neitzel’s “Thrill of the Chase” blog – after many hunters voiced displeasure with the lack of facts. Some searchers have turned on Fenn, saying the treasure hunt was a hoax or a friend was steered to the site.”

  1. “Appeals court orders new trial for Idaho man convicted in Nevada Bundy ranch standoff”

    FOR REAL?????

Whenever it’s a right-wing protest, the Conservatives spend years in court and being cleaned out financially. In this case, it was a Conservative just standing at a Ranch with an Assault riffle.

Whenever it’s a left-wing protester, the Marxist, spends NO more than one day in jail, is bailed out through Go-Fund me accounts, and back on the streets to burn down buildings, loot stores, destroy private property, and commit murder and mayhem in the streets.

Why is it that the FBI kills (murders) right-wing protesters but don’t ever lay a hand on left-wing protesters??? I’m talking about the statues destroyed, cities burned, and people murdered by these Left-wingers and the FBI is no where to be found. However, the FBI gets involved with right-wingers and kills the Branch Davidians, Weaver family members and dog, and LeVoy Finicium from the Bundy standoff??????????

    Hello???

    Wake up folks!

        1. No doubt. And I repeat: “Perhaps the guns of government are aimed at anyone, whatever political position, who poses a threat.”

Watch your back, friends. Know who you can trust.

          Carry on in grace

  2. Today me and my better half went to walmart. We usually avoid it but we went there to get a specific item (wiper blades) and they were by far the closest place to get it. We walked right in without masks, and no one said a word to us. We walked around a good part of the store, and everyone we saw was wearing masks- customers and employees. Even when we got to the checkout, no one mentioned masks. There is hope for us yet !
