SurvivalBlog’s News From The American Redoubt

This weekly column features news stories and event announcements from around the American Redoubt region. (Idaho, Montana, eastern Oregon, eastern Washington, and Wyoming.) Much of the region is also more commonly known as The Inland Northwest. We also mention companies of interest to preppers and survivalists that are located in the American Redoubt region. 1. $300,000 in legal fees so that the city can defend their stance that sleeping on the sidewalk is a bad idea and should not be legal. Absolutely incredible! In today’s world defending common sense and decency will bankrupt you.

  2. Re. Lavoy Finicum
Words mean things. ‘Shooting death’? It was murder.

Chief District Court Judge Michael Mosman smugly stated “It’s time to put a fork in this case.” Negative. It’s time to put a fork in the system that protects the system.

  3. More bear attacks in the Redoubt. I used to hunt that area.

In MT we would be given a bear tag included in the fee for our elk tag.

A buddy who had only ever hunted birds would go out with us. One weekend he got his elk down there. As he was packing the hide and chunks of meat on trips to his pickup, a griz disputed ownership of the carcass.

Never leave your rifle at the carcass or vehicle when processing your game. My buddy carried his so this never became a story for national news outlets. He did end up harvesting the griz. But it was a close thing.

    God Bless and Open Carry

  4. Grizzly attacks in Wyoming are so common that it is truly unbelievable. Just spend a little time in the Northwestern part of the state and talk to people that are afield, you would not believe how many have been involved in attacks. It seems that most incidents are kept quiet or get very little press, when it really should be shouted from the roof tops, then maybe wise management would be used. Trekker Out
