Preparedness Notes for Monday — September 7, 2020

September 7th is the birthday of Richard Cole, born in 1915. He passed away on April 8, 2019, at age 103. Cole was the last living Doolittle Raider. He was General Doolittle’s co-pilot.

This is also the birthday of novelist Taylor Caldwell (born 1900 – August 30, 1985).

Today is the birthday of Dr. Ludwig Vorgrimler (born 1912 in Freiburg, Germany; died 1983). Vorgrimler was the designer of the Spanish CETME rifle, from which sprang a plethora of roller-lock descendants from HK, including the G3, HK21, and MP5. His bolt design was also copied by the Swiss for their excellent PE57 and SIG 510 rifles. (Although the Swiss felt obliged to mount a “beer keg” charging handle on the right side of the receiver, for the sake of familiarity to Schmidt-Rubin shooters.)

Here is an affordable new listing, over at my #1 Son’s site: Montana Off-Grid Cabin Retreat.

Today we present another review researched and written by our Field Gear Editor, Pat Cascio.

  1. Just shoutin’ out from the Heartland. I’m involved in land sales/resales here= its going gangbusters. Off the charts (not enough inventory). People are leaving the cities in droves… including my own family members.

There are land deals (and will continue to be). Just like during the Great Depression, people bought 1000s of acres for pennies on the dollar. Amazing deals will be on the table, especially during lean times (people will need cash). Its like JWR’s concept of inflation/deflation occurring simultaneously.

I love the mention of what #1 Son is doing- getting the hobby farm or strategic lot/acreage is imperative. God bless SB readers, staff and America! Exciting times ahead!!!

  2. And one of Taylor Caldwells finest works, “The Devils Advocate”, laying out a scenario of how corrupt Govs & people become and lays out a process by which a sane gov can be regained, is entirely appropriate for relating to events unfolding today. And this published in 1956.

  3. Now this is something to behold… The entire Palm Beach County Board was served with a suit for TREASON.

Could we see this coming to county boards and other government officials soon? The potential applications of this strategy are nearly endless given all the unconstitutional or extra constitutional behaviors of so many of our officials — elected and appointed. One can only hope!
