Preparedness Notes for Monday – May 14, 2018

On May 14th, 1948, in Tel Aviv, Jewish Agency Chairman David Ben-Gurion proclaimed the State of Israel, reestablishing the Jewish state after 2000 years. In an afternoon ceremony at the Tel Aviv Art Museum, Ben-Gurion pronounced the words “We hereby proclaim the establishment of the Jewish state in Palestine, to be called Israel,” prompting applause and tears from the crowd gathered at the museum. Ben-Gurion became Israel’s first premier.

The British Army had withdrawn the day earlier and fighting broke out almost immediately. Egypt launched an air assault later in the evening. Despite a blackout in Tel Aviv–and the expected Arab invasion–Jews joyously celebrated the birth of their new nation, especially after word was received that the United States had recognized the Jewish state. At midnight, the State of Israel officially came into being upon termination of the British mandate in Palestine.

  1. I thought it a great and magnificent thing that Israel was established again. These days, there is a plethora of Jew-haters every where you go on or off the ‘net. I gave up trying to understand it, more than twenty years ago. Back then, my own father could not logically explain his hatred of Jews, having never encountered one in his lifetime. He was not a highly educated man, nor a sophisticated one. He got most of his education in hating Jews down at the American Legion Bar, soaked in beer, and regurgitated by the mass as common knowledge. Even now, when I can’t help but encounter them on the ‘net, none of these supposed patriots can explain how exactly the Jews are going to take over the world, and keep it. It’s like explaining ghosts, they’re everywhere and no where. I’ve never maintained that the Jews were without mistakes, or errors. But for me, there is brotherly love for them, and I stand with Israel. And not with the socialist/communist ones here, anti-gun and in our govt. Regarding them, it’s like C. Looney said in a movie. “Fellas, we’re in a tight spot!”

  2. You wonder what the future holds. Well, read this http://www.watchmanbiblestudy.com/biblestudies/Ezekiel/Ezekiel38-39_GogMagog.html . It would appear that we are watching 3500 year old prophecy come to pass. I am pointing to general current events in the Mideast centered in Syria generally and specifically Mattis’ order that the Russian mercenaries be annihilated with the literal meaning intended and executed. The only question is how far the fire and brimstone will splash. Looking over my shoulder at Yellow Stone. Or is it simply a fire and brimstone of another kind. Time to order another 100 lbs of wheat from the Mormans…
