Guest Post: Americans Are More Radicalized Than Ever As The Country Literally Spirals Toward Civil War, by Michael Snyder

Now that Brett Kavanaugh has officially been confirmed, it is a good time to reflect upon where we are at as a nation. And where we are at is a nation that is rapidly moving toward a state of civil war. At one time we were a nation that was united by shared values, a shared purpose and a shared destiny, but now all of that has been replaced by anger, frustration, bitterness, strife and discord. The left hates the right and vice versa, and both sides are becoming increasingly radicalized. And without a doubt we are in a life or death battle for the future of America. Eventually one side or the other will emerge victorious, and their ideology will become dominant in this country.

Up to this point, there has been a lot of screaming, yelling and protesting, but it isn’t going to take very much to push the nation over the edge into violence.

On a daily basis the pot is being stirred by our leading politicians and the mainstream media, and it is very difficult to see any way that this story is going to end well.

Early on Sunday, the Drudge Report was being headlined by an Axios story about “the radicalization of our public lives”…

It’s going to get worse. Virtually every major American institution is being radicalized — or being reshaped by the radicalization of our public lives.

You see this most vividly in politics, where the White House and Congress are often the cause and effect of the radicalization. You now see it in the courts and the Supreme Court, in particular, where a narrow, party-line vote made Brett Kavanaugh the next justice after a nasty, personal political brawl. Already, lawyer Michael Avenatti is calling for a new Democratic litmus test: increasing the size of the court to 11 from nine.

In particular, it is on the left where we have seen the most extreme radicalization. This is something that President Trump commented on during his most recent rally

“Just imagine the devastation they would cause if they of their obtained the power they so desperately want and crave,” Trump added. “You don’t hand matches to an arsonist and you don’t give power to an angry left-wing mob, and that’s what they have become.

Trump then used Kavanaugh’s example to illustrate why conservatives need to vote during the midterm elections in four weeks so that Democrats don’t take back the House:

“You have to vote,” Trump insisted. “On November 6 you will have the chance to stop the radical Democrats — and that’s what they have become — by electing a Republican House and a Republican Senate. We will increase our majorities. We need more Republicans. We need more Republicans.

“The Democrats have become too extreme and too dangerous to govern,” Trump continued. “Republicans believe in the rule of law not the rule of the mob.”

Of course if Hillary Clinton had won the election, there are millions upon millions of Americans that would not have been willing to be governed by her either.

We are rapidly getting to the point where America is simply going to be ungovernable.

In order for any government to function, a certain percentage of the population must be willing to recognize that government as legitimate. For example, if everybody in the country suddenly decided to quit paying taxes there wouldn’t be too much that the federal government could do about it. They could put some of us in prison to try to scare the rest of us back in line, but if the rest of us refused to be intimidated our system of taxation would collapse.

Every system of government depends upon the fact that most people will willingly submit to it, and we are rapidly getting to the point where a large portion of the population will not submit to being governed.

Just consider what just took place in Washington. As Brett Kavanaugh was being sworn in, protesters were literally banging on and clawing the doors of the Supreme Court building…

But perhaps no incident better expressed the protesters’ tenuous hold on sanity than a demonstration at the Supreme Court, where protesters — mostly women — broke through a police line and barged to the Court’s chamber, where they proceeded to wail, gnash teeth, and pound at the doors while Kavanaugh was being sworn in inside.

Some of the protesters, who managed to get all the way through to the doors themselves, tried desperately to claw their way in, even though the doors were clearly locked (and look very heavy).

If you have not seen this yet, you can watch footage of this happening on Facebook right here.

And Chad Pergram is reporting that Republican senators had death threats texted to their personal phones…

Colleague Peter Doocy rpts a GOP senator says senators have had death threats texted to their person phones. Calls that “unusual.” Also says some senators who flew home after Kavanaugh vote were accompanied by police for protection

In a subsequent tweet, Pergram also reported that a gruesome beheading video was actually sent to the phone of Cory Gardner’s wife…

Amid Kavanaugh furor & threats to mbrs, Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) tells Fox that his wife received a text with a video attachment showing a gruesome beheading. Someone has has also released the names of and addresses of his family members.

Can you imagine how you would feel if that happened to you?

Many of these leftist protesters are extremely passionate about protecting abortion rights. To be honest, I wish that those on the right were just as passionate about defending the lives of the unborn.

Because the truth is that Brett Kavanaugh has never said that he intends to overturn Roe v. Wade. In fact, during her speech on the floor of the U.S. Senate explaining why she was voting for Kavanaugh, U.S. Senator Susan Collins admitted that Kavanaugh essentially promised her that he would not vote to overturn Roe v. Wade

Most notably, Collins said in her explanation of why she was not worried that Kavanaugh would overturn Roe that Kavanaugh had told her when they were discussing his nomination that he did not think five sitting justices—a majority of the nine member court—would be a sufficient number “to overturn long-established precedent.”

This was after he had testified, she noted, that Roe–upheld by Casey–was “precedent on precedent.”

“Finally, in his testimony, he noted repeatedly that Roe had been upheld by Planned Parenthood v. Casey, describing it as precedent on precedent,” said Collins in her floor speech. “When I asked him whether it would be sufficient to overturn a long-established precedent if five current Justices believed it was wrongly decided, he emphatically said no.”

Kavanaugh didn’t just say no.

He “emphatically said no“.

After everything that happened, the ironic thing is that Kavanaugh getting on to the Supreme Court is a loss for conservatives, but nobody on the right wants to admit this. We got fooled by Justice Kennedy, we got fooled by Sandra Day O’Connor, we got fooled by David Souter, and now we have just been fooled again.

Kavanaugh clerked for Justice Kennedy, and he is cut from the exact same cloth as his mentor. Kennedy was one of the key votes to uphold Roe v. Wade in the Casey decision, and he actually wrote the opinion for the case that legalized gay marriage in America. It is rumored that Kennedy would not retire until he was assured that Kavanaugh would be nominated in his place, because he knew that Kavanaugh would be the exact same type of Supreme Court justice that he had been.

So conservatives should not be celebrating this “victory” at all.

But what this confirmation process did prove is that we are closer to chaos on the streets of America than ever before. In fact, a recent New York Post article suggested that America “could be sleepwalking into a second civil war”…

To be clear, what we just witnessed, and what we have seen for two years, is not a case of mere political differences, which the Founders recognized as inevitable and even desirable.

Instead, we face something more akin to the combustible climate historian Christopher Clark described as the origins of World War I. In his book, “The Sleepwalkers: How Europe Went to War in 1914,” Clark illustrates how none of the great powers wanted war, but all felt free to escalate the build-up in the certainty that the other side would back down.

Something similar is happening here, and our nation could be sleepwalking into a second civil war. Even though justice and fairness prevailed this time, the stained confirmation process must serve as a wake-up alarm.

This time around, however, it won’t be a battle between two opposing armies from two distinct geographic regions.

Instead, it will be a conflict between two very different ideologies. So far, it has mostly been a “cold war”, but as both sides become increasingly radicalized I fear for what the future may soon bring…

  1. Prediction from the Great Karnak (Johnny Carson reference) : AND IN FUTURE ELECTIONS, THE LEFT WILL BLAME DONALD TRUMP AS THE INSTIGATOR AND FOUNDER OF THE VIOLENCE THAT WILL OCCUR. Its coming – guaranteed. Not their fault – The Donald Made Them Do It !!

“But Donald Trump and their followers caused […]” And Mainstream Media will concur, cluck their tongues and recite the mantra of ‘Its Donald Trump’s Fault’ …

  2. “At one time we were a nation that was united by shared values, a shared purpose and a shared destiny, but now all of that has been replaced by anger, frustration, bitterness, strife and discord.” When, exactly, was this utopia of civil harmony a reality? History shows never.

I always find it interesting how much politics seems to play in to survival. All of the references in this article are popular politics versions of news articles. We should all be aware that media corporations are interested in generating views, which translates for them in to dollars.

Is today any worse than the 1960s as far as unrest? How does our 24/7 media news cycle along with all the formats that allow us to access news so easily, differ from the 1960s? Keep in mind, there were over 160 riots in 1967, alone. We are no where near that level of unrest, but the media would have us believe otherwise.

    1. My husband always says that farming encompasses every other industry in some way. A farm is like a mini city, run by 2 people. That is why farmers are jacks of all trades and master of none. Politics seems to be a part of that. We just do it. I wish that we were still the bedrock of society that we once were. We would be much better off as a society. Farmers know how to trust God for situation beyond our control, since most of our existence is beyond our control. One day, we will again be the bedrock of our society, since you can’t get very far from the source of your food and survive. But because no one appreciates farmers, we don’t have much of a voice. Some of it is, we’ve been so busy growing everyone’s food, we’ve stepped out of our role. Maybe it’s because farmers use a clear head and are used to seeing the big picture, that we tend to see things for how they really are.

    2. MuddyKid, this old coot believes you are too young to remember what we have lost. In the 40’s and even into the 1950’s this was still a ‘good’ country, a civilized country, a God-fearing country. Perfect? Son, only God is perfect.

  3. The truth is, the Republicans literally are no better than the Democrats. I have seen this first hand. I will only vote for a Republican if I am convinced that they are a staunch conservative constitutionist. Any candidate I vote for must be a staunch constitutionist. Until everyone uses that standard to judge every single candidate, things will not change in this country. The problem is, very few even know the constitution well enough to make that judgment. I watch lots of Kris Anne Hall. I think lots more people need to watch/listen to her. People simply don’t know, and they need to learn it quickly, and vote accordingly if we are to save this country. At this point, we probably are past the point of easily taking our country back. We are probably at the point where it will be with our blood, at the risk of not winning at all. We have been asleep too long. But our liberty is OUR liberty, and that of our children.

  4. @Muddykid

Yes the situation is much worse than the 1960s as that was the leading edge of the leftist indoctrinated education output. The number of people that were educated with traditional American value and knowledge is decreasing at an alarming rate. The 1960s brought new definition as to what the Constitutional right to seek redress or protest meant. No longer was it just speaking you mind, it now involved breaking the law with impunity. I remember walking into a celebration of the country at the Mall and having to walk through police lines to gain entry to the event. As I walked in on either side were “protestors” with piles of rocks, bottles clubs and as we later found out tear gas. These were to be used not only on the police but the citizens attending the event and often whole families. I later got in a heated debate with a reporter that kept calling these people the best America had to offer and were examples for all on how to address grievances. During that period we also had a failed Communist revolution led by the extreme left Marxists such as Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dhorn, BBFs of Obama.

Today, the vast majority of voters have no understanding of why the USA came into being, why it became great, why such fundamental issues as due process are important and the evil of collectivism in any of its forms. Try taking to a recent college graduate and they will most likely be very firm in their opinion but unable to defend what they believe because they have never been confronted with an opposing view point. Ocasio-Cortex would be and excellent example. an honors graduate with a degree in international and financial affairs degree, whose ignorance is astounding.

I believe that we are on the brink of wide spread politically induced violence. How one could watch the antics of the left, no matter your position on the Kavanaugh confirmation, and not be horrified at the prospects. How can we accept a mob or a group of Brownshirts in our midst called antifa? The Globalists are spending billions to tear the country down.

If we don’t lose the country to the ignorant mass of citizens we will lose it to China as we no long have the will to fight or the men to do so. Even the Military Academies, I was graduated from one, have been infected. My son, a mid 1990s graduate of the same Academy, was subjected to much anti American revisionism.

My generation is dying out rapidly and there are very few replacements being made. Between the propagandized public education and the culture shifting by illegal aliens and massive refugee settlements, the US is a lost cause. Unless God decides to intervene.

I believe the Bible teaches God holds countries accountable for sin just as He does individuals. Unless and until the USA, as a nation, repents of the sinful abomination of abortion and the sin of rejecting Him we are on a steep decline into depravity, conquest and slavery.

    YMMV

  5. Muddykid, the difference is that instead of the youth on the street instigating riots (e.g. the 1960s) it is the people in power who are instigating the unrest today.

      1. @Jake, and there were many people in power instigating the physical violence in the 1960s, too.

When paying attention to the comments on this site for a while now, it seems the average person (or at least very common) is typically above 50 years old. I would be interested to know if James or Hugh have any demographic info on their readers. However, the reason I bring this up is because since the Cold War officially began, there has only been a ten year period (give or take) that the world has not been under the influence of unconventional warfare.

According to military doctrine, unconventional warfare primarily involves psychological influence. This, I think, becomes interested in several ways. One in which is during this ten year period that unconventional war was not active, the same people who were petitioned and influenced toward survival during the Cold War, were the very same people who were said to be extremists during the 10 year absence of unconventional warfare.

To my way of thinking, this example is certainly a form of violence instigated by those in a position of power.

        1. Muddykid:

Modern Survival Blog did a demographic of their readership in 2016 under the title…”Prepper Poll: Your Age Bracket”…

Like you expected. The short version is that 69% were above 50 years of age,

          129 in 60-64 age bracket
          123 in 55-59 age bracket
          98 in 65-69 age bracket
          98 in 45-49 age bracket
          95 in 50-54 age bracket

  6. It is only going to get worse, The progressives wont settle for anything less than full implementation of their socialist/communist policies. And they will do whatever they mjust to make it happen.

  7. From what I’ve seen, the propaganda machine owned by Democrat billionaires has been pro boxer Mike Tyson while the Republicans/ Fox News have been Woody Allen.

Not clear to me why Fox News has taken a dive — may be the son taking over from Rupert.

PS Which side has the guns?

  8. The 1960s had a lot of violence -Vietnam protests, Martin Luther King-racial marches, a small number of assassinations, etc. The USA was very divided then. & yet somehow, in various ways, people recognized the dangers & risks of continuing the violence & slowly back away from it. This gives me hope that our current rabid divisions may not necessarily lead to civil war.

However, it’s impossible to know with certainty how our current divisions will play out. Therefore, it’s wise to prepare for a possible civil war.

  9. “At one time we were a nation that was united by shared values, a shared purpose and a shared destiny…”

The thing that was left out of this list of shared items was a shared national identity, which is totally missing today. People who identify as individuals or as members of particular groups, especially political groups but they do not seem to identify simply As Americans. This level of division and derision is indeed setting us up for extreme civil unrest if not outright Civil War. Aside from the World War II years America has always had some division but it is getting far worse today. The levels of animosity that exists between the two prime political parties in this country are reaching an all-time high and the threats of violence and the actual instances of violence are spiking. Without some unifying event or extremely charismatic leader with the ability to influence across party lines I am afraid that we are going to be in for a future filled with extreme Discord.

  10. This is not serendipity. This was the purpose of Ted Kennedy’s ploy in the 60’s to open the gates to mass immigration. The intent was to replace you’all voters in flyover country with more dependable Democrat voters. The goal was to secure 100 years of total Democrat power. They are on the cusp of achieving that. Trump was an anomaly they didn’t expect and what you are seeing is their frustration at the postponement of their goal. That’s why we have the Fascist antifa and the drama in the Senate and all the calls for even more violence. They can taste the victory, they are so close to stealing your country and “dammit Trump has to be eliminated.” Watch and see if they don’t do exactly that…

  11. Interesting essay but completely wrong in my opinion. Greatly overwrought. Far too much hyperventilating. Have seen everything since the 50’s and the situation today is only a war of words. Civil war? Who is going to show up? A few far leftists and extreme nationalists? Let them have at it in the deserts of Nevada.

Seriously, the core Americans are the 43-46% who vote and the remainder either don’t vote because they struggle to make a living or are to lazy to care.

We will muddle through and look back at this as an aberration. Everything in life reverts to the mean.

    1. @Ladywest, Thomas Jefferson understood liberty and the nature of man. He spoke to ‘life reverting to the mean’ when he warned, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” It fell on our watch. You (and many) might have missed the fall of civility in this once-great country because it was a process, not an event. Nevertheless it fell. Take action accordingly, or not….

  12. I am troubled every day by the ignorance on display around the country, the sheer stupidity of the leftist platform. My heart breaks when I realize how far we have fallen in the last decades. We still have courageous and decent people aplenty but the tipping point is being reached as far as being outvoted by the left. Voter fraud is rampant and barely being addressed. Virtually every school, college, and university is cranking out a heavy majority of liberal leftists with no moral compass. Parents can’t be bothered to pay attention to their child’s education, much less do they know the history of our country or the unique preciousness of our Constitution. The vast majority of media outlets is in the hands of just a few global corporations with nefarious intent; cranking out #FakeNews is the LEAST of their sins. Plenty of Christian ministers have rolled over to the left and abdicated their moral role as spiritual defenders of the faith.

Unpopular as it is these days to say it, America came to greatness on the firm foundation of Christian values and morality. When liberty is offered to humanity that does not have some degree of morals, education, noble aspiration, and self-discipline, what results is what you see today, chaos and anything-goes self indulgence. A love of country, reverence for God, devotion to family values, is a basis for progress, but those qualities have been so universally mocked by media and schools for so long that we now end up with almost half the population anchored to nothing but their personal “feelings”. I just watched a video of an infamous Muslim female in hijab putting American flag hijabs on the heads of American women and men (yes, men), as they swooned with emotion of “liberty and justice for all” or whatever thought was bringing tears to their eyes. Then she straightened out their pink hats atop the flag-themed hijab and everyone smiled. Hopefully we can turn all this around but we are in very dangerous straits with heavy cross winds and rocks to crash upon.

The currents of history and divine providence gave rise to this nation; I don’t know what can save it at this point other than God, and the sacrifices of those in a position to influence the direction we take.

  13. The biggest issue to day is stopping the genocide of abortion which is a core belief of the leftist Marxists. They have held sway over the US for far too long, with abortion, open borders, redistribution of wealth and political correctness. Change is happening!

    1. Agreed, Ian. Consider that our Law can be a stubborn thing. We have just confirmed a Supreme Court Justice who holds ‘precedent’ in the highest esteem. To do so places “consistency of Decision” above the possibility that says precedent may simply be wrong. Precedent can easily “twist” whatever our Founders may have tried to convey regarding the Original Intent of the Constitution. Furthermore, since when has the Supreme Court ever turned down taking a case simply because the issue wasn’t directly addressed by the Constitution? Now. take a closer look at ‘Levels of Judicial Review’ where only one of three Levels, “Strict Scrutiny,” is the highest and most directly related to the Constitutional Rights of the People. “Strict Scrutiny” should be the only Review Level allowed as it is the only LoR which could prevent an incorrect Ruling based on incorrect Precedent alone. Isn’t the Court’s job to interpret the Constitution’s relevance to any issue decided upon? Good Luck ever disallowing tons of Incorrect Precedent out of these most grievous of Decisions. I fear America will have to suffer dire consequences of being so wrong against God’s Intentions.

  14. The early, United STATES of America, was the ‘closest’ to achieving liberty than any attempt by mankind! It has never ‘really’ been achieved, we came close in the early stages of this country, say until the mid 1800’s and, from the Civil War on, the decline has been ever increasing. The Civil War was NOT mainly about slavery, it was about States Rights, the separation of powers, the chaining of the beast called the ‘Federal Government’. If you would have asked any of the Founding Fathers what their citizenship was NONE would have said, “I’m a U.S, citizen”. They would have said, “I’m a Virginian” , “I’m a citizen of Maryland” or, whatever, they never would have said I’m an American. This is a VERY important point to understand….in the 1800’s the Federal Government never had any dealings with citizens on an individual basis, the Federal Government “only” dealt with the States, the Territories and other Nations. The invasion of the Federal Government into the affairs of the States and the individual citizen are the fears so strongly advanced by the anti-Federalist. We lost the REPUBLIC at the onset of the Civil War, immaterial of which side would have won the war! We lost our National Sovereignty upon violation of the Monroe Doctrine and entry into WW1 and being entrapped in European Alliances. We all need to reread American History!

  15. Just a thought on the whole abortion thing. Like the gun issue, if you don’t want an abortion, don’t get one. If you don’t want an AR, don’t get one.
Only the Left is busy killing their own voting base. We don’t see many Christians lined up at Planned Parenthood.
“Never interrupt an enemy while he is making a mistake.” Napoleon.
Do you think Eisenhower would have lost sleep if Hitler had murdered 15% of his own army?
The shrieking protestors in the Senate gallery, unfortunately, somehow slipped by Planned Parenthood un-noticed.
While Kavanaugh might not be perfect to some on the Right, try to imagine the justice HRC would have picked.
Without Roe, the Left would have taken the levers of government by storm decades ago and your 2nd A would have been a distant memory. A hundred million more Dems would not have held the US Constitution dear, nor the Bill of Rights.
The Right is patiently letting the Left set the rules of engagement. The Left is rapidly escalating the national debate to violence. Once this rule is firmly in place, things will get sorted out, and it won’t turn out like the Left thinks it will. It takes a lot to get Bubba off the couch, but when he does, it gets messy. Just ask the old Germans and Japanese.
Like Don said earlier, “Who has the guns?” I just floss my teeth as I watch these screeching idiots on the news.

    1. Paul,
I’m all for freedom of choice. The problem with the current abortion model is that it is being partially funded with my forcefully-robbed-from-my-pockets tax dollars.
If the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood abortion clinics were to stop, I would still care about the plight of unborn children, but I would not be funding, in whole or in part, their abortion.
If any adult still wants to have an abortion, that is their right and choice (and God help them), but, again, I would not be funding, in whole or in part, their abortion.

      1. Hi Deplorable,

I agree….taxpayers should not be paying for any of this monkey business. I have no control over that. But taxes are taken from our pockets at gun point to do a lot of other awful things…like paying the salaries of the subversive staffs at our universities, NPR, NEA, etc. I’m just seeing abortion in a different light in the context of the political war we find ourselves in. In the 90s, Clinton and Company opposed illegal immigration, but at some point, they must have realized they needed to flood the country with new voters from out of town. They also sew chaos and jack up the crime rate. A bonus, since the more crime you have the more government you need. Please let me know when someone figures out how to selectively pay taxes that go only to things we approve of.
There’s’ always Congress. You don’t need SCOTUS to get rid of Roe. What Congress gives, Congress can take away. After Roe goes away, figure out how to out-vote millions of new Dems.

  16. What we need is for the San Andreas fault to start sliding in SOCA and go all the way up to Washington. That would be a real disaster that might bring some community back to Americans.

  17. Ladywest, do you mean that core Americans are the 20% of hard core Democrats or 20% hard core Republicans that vote party line? What about those that don’t vote as a matter of conscious, “they can’t accept the lesser of two evils”!

    1. I was suggesting that the 43-48% who do vote (my AARP magazine showed the highest percentage of voters was at 48% in Maine)(I read AARP – that tells you a lot) and the lowest was 43% and I forgot which state, are the bedrock of this country no matter who they voted for because they vote and I don’t believe they are or would even suggest we are heading toward a civil war. I may be wrong but nevertheless those who don’t vote contribute nothing and I do believe it is better to vote for the lessor evil than not vote at all.

If you don’t vote you’ve just increased the odds for the worse candidate. Besides, when I grew up I never got everything I wanted. I’m going to stamp my foot and suggest I don’t want to participate because of it? The best world is yet to come. For the time being I’ll do my best in this material, imperfect world. Which, by the way, includes compromise
or nothing is ever accomplished. IMHO.

  18. If you want to know where the nation will be in 10 years, just look at what they are teaching in colleges today. This alone will tell you everything you need to know.

  19. This is what happens when we let the communist party get a foot hold in our institutions and politics. There was a reason why Douglas MacArthur wanted to go after and destroy the communist threat. Probably aren’t many Americans left with the wherewithal to start the music..

  20. “Of course if Hillary Clinton had won the election, there are millions upon millions of Americans that would not have been willing to be governed by her either.”
2008-2016 is proof that your assertion is invalid. Being fully aware that our government was being run by communists, many Americans vowed to change government, and that’s what we’ve begun to do. We did NOT “refuse to be governed”. That comes when change becomes impossible. Likely already there, as I’m sure the R party has now instituted rules similar to the D’s which prevent them being stuck with a candidate they didn’t choose. But at that point you are no longer describing “government”, though, are you?

    1. I must concur. Even when Barrack Hussein Obama was president, there was no mass backlash or civil disobedience by conservatives. It seems that only when liberals are disappointed by an election outcome that they display a public meltdown and scream for insurrection, assassination, and civil war.

  21. I live in a rural area w/ lots of poverty, & drug & alcohol abuse & less education than ave. I recently read that the ave life expectancy is significantly lower than ave in USA. At first, I felt discouraged & hopeless, that such problems can be overwhelming. But then, I was reminded that these factors indicate deep needs for faith, hope, & love, that Christ offers us. I know that JWR is a Christian, & probably Hugh J Latimar is too. What we’re facing today, requires us to go to God in faith & hope, & let God’s Spirit offer peace, love & hope to others thru us believers. 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still true, & may we be part of a movement to recall our fellow citizens to a better & higher calling & way of life.

    1. Don’t forget our Conservative/Orthodox Jewish brethren/preppers (NOT the social/economic justice warriors of the Reform movement). Most of the Conservative/Orthodox Jews are believers in the 2nd Amendment (JFPO), Limited government, Individual and States rights, the Torah, Holy Bible, Ten Commandments, and are pro life, and anti- National Democratic Socialist!

  22. As a moderate I try and look at all the sides of a problem. Many of you are not. Think about what you are saying and try and consider both sides. Awhile back someone said the cause of WW III will be the preparation for it. So far thank God we have avoided it.

I can’t help but wonder about all this talk abut the coming civil war as if it is inevitable. We all need to step back and think about this. The absolute last thing this county needs is a war between neighbors.

These comments about who has the guns are asinine! Let me assure you my far left friends there are plenty of guns on both sides. Most of the young vets I know bought an AR when they left the military. Most of them are disillusioned with the way life is going lately and yeah they would like to see a kinder and more equitable nation.

If push comes to shove (shoot) do you really want to go up against a pickup platoon of young vets with RECENT combat experience?

We really need to stop taking so much about civil war as the preparation for it might just turn out to be what causes it. WE DON’T NEED THIS!

Are you if victorious — ready to stave off a Chinese military invasion of a weakened and devestated post civil war county? Think about how many ARs you have and how many gunships with chainguns and rocket launchers they will bring to the party.

    1. 1) I asked which side has the guns. I was not the one arguing that the country is headed for a civil war — but if that is true, then Sun Tzu advised working up the order of battle.

Anyone want to estimate the size of the Democrat armory versus that of the Trump supporters? And any guesses re who knows which end of the barrel the bullet comes out of –versus those who do not?

      2) I am also curious — would a Chinese dictator treat the American People any worse than what our Democrat billionaires are already doing? It wasn’t the Chinese who sold the lives of 4500 US soldiers in an unnecessary war in Iraq to seize non-existent nukes. It was the Democrat -controlled Senate of 2002.

      3) It wasn’t the Chinese who imprisoned Americans at the highest rate on the planet and who dumped 8 years of 15% unemployment onto black Americans — while letting Wall Street and Big Banks steal everything not nailed down with no fear of going on trial. It wasn’t Trump either.

      4) It is not the Chinese who are using violent mobs to trample on the First Amendment right of Americans to peaceably assemble and hear a debate. It’s not Trump supporters either. And it is not Chinese politicans who are engaged in an open conspiracy to let those thugs rampage while the police are ordered to stand down and not enforce the law.

    2. I also find Anon’s dislike of violence puzzling. 36,035 Americans died of suicide in 2008. So over the 8 years of Obama’s term we would have expected to see 288,280 suicides. Instead, there were 328,524 suicides .

Those 40,244 additional Americans died from the misery and pain of the Big Bailout crafted by the 2007-2010 Democrat Congresses as executed by President Barack Obama.

That’s 13 times as many dead Americans as died on Sept 11, 2001. So why have we been engaged in 17 years of an endless “War on Terror”? Why are we sending Navy Seals to Pakistan?

  23. With all do respect to Ladywest, I wouldn’t put much stock in AARP as they definitely have liberal leaning positions. It is also ironic that the radical left sees an opportunity to incite young millenials etc. against the older/more conservative generation, like most of us. Just look at the video in this attached link and you’ll see how insidious and well funded they are. As an example of what they are successfully doing already, we personally know two couples our age, who are no longer allowed to see some of their grandchildren since their children found out they voted for trump. I can’t really have a discussion with my daughter for the same reason. We are aready in a serious psychological battle with the left/devil and they don’t intend to compromise or give an inch. They won’t stop until their is no God, no genders, no rules, no morals, etc.

  24. I would beg to differ in that most of those young combat vets lean conservative at least they did three years ago when I retired and they believe in the constitution but unfortunately they only make up less than 10% of the population and some of those have severe injuries. Not saying that most would side again the left. The problem with the left is some are unhinged enough to start a major dust up not realizing they are just cannon fodder so the media can play it that they are the victims and we know how it goes from there. Stay the course vote for the best you can and demand they do the right thing by email a lot and last, as some have said, pray.

  25. I have never seen the level of hatred as high as it is now. I don’t believe the US could have another Civil War, mass civil unrest but not war. I do believe the Leftist/ Marxists will be responsible for a massive wave of crime. Mostly confined to the cities. Heck its been that way for quite some time imho, the stats manipulated for political reasons. People will be forced to defend themselves as they have been as it worsens or simply flee. Our police will need to see more support from citizens, they will continue to be on the front lines. If nothing changes expect to become like South Africa…

  26. I was in PSYOPS (Psychological Warfare Operations) in Viet Nam, what we are seeing in the United States is plain and simple PSYOPS! We are so far removed from the visions of the Founding Fathers that most people today do not even understand the basic principles. This tyranny is an intelligent, disciplined, patient and persistent enemy! They work in generational terms, not on election to election terms. Slowly and insidiously they erode the basic framework this country was founded upon. History shows the destruction, generation by generation….we are lost unless we can start training our children in the basic concepts sought by the Founding Fathers. Yea but by the grace of God, we have fallen.

    1. @ eam, I would certainly love to have a conversation with you sometime about psyops. Very interesting topic that many people completely disregard or are unaware of. I am sure you have great insight on the topic.

  27. I want a debate on national TV about what each party wants for the country. Lay it all out for everyone to see. Bernie Sanders and his bribing people with promises of free stuff is disgusting, Sad how I never see anyone else pointing this stuff out.

  28. “civil war”

    (shrug) why now?

seriously, been hearing this kind of talk for a long time now. “if this happens, if that happens, the people will rise up!” never happens. everybody on the right seems to be thinking like hezekiah, “peace in my time” ….

  29. “…but it isn’t going to take very much to push the nation over the edge into violence.”

Just over a year ago, a leftist idiot tried to kill a ballfield full of Republicans. Rand Paul was attacked in his yard. Just because the media didn’t cover it doesn’t mean we aren’t already there.

  30. CPA prepper, you are right. I have been aggravated at what my kids tell me their professors teach them at times. My daughter, proudly drinks out of her coffee mug that states, “I survived college without becoming a liberal”. Love that kid.

  31. Vote republican. Any republicans in November. We need Trump not to get impeached. If the democrats would get control it won’t be a civil war, it will be a socialist take over. Don’t worry right now how conservative the republican might be. The Flakes and Corkers are leaving anyway. Just VOTE REPUBLICAN. Maybe we can save the Union.

    Yes and keep stocking up.

  32. I believe the fundamental problem to be the power that we the people have allowed the federal government to take. The federal government was designed to be limited. Only those powers listed in Article I, Section 8. The “bill of rights” do not give us our rights, they put definite restrictions on the federal government. There should be NO federal gun laws, they violate the Constitution. When the states do most governmental functions they can be sensitive to the wants of the people of that state. If you live there and don’t like it then move to a state that operates the way you like. Now we can’t escape each other and have allowed the federal government to be involved in way too much of our lives. We need to return to a limited federal government.

  33. First you replace the Democrats (Communist) with Republicans (National Socialist Party), until there are not enough Democrats to change or control anything. Then even more Democrats will not run because they have no chance of winning. Some Democrats will run as Republicans to infiltrate the party. Next start voting in Independents to replace Republicans until there is only one party of representatives of the American People, the Independents. When there is an Independent that is a nutcase like Mad Maxine, John McCain, or Nazi Pelosi, replace them with a sane Independent. Its the only way to stop the divide and conquer tactics of the Elite Banker Cartel.

  34. Muddykid….I was low level, and just a kid, but even from that vantage point I can see many of the nuances of psyops in operation, not only in the U.S. but Internationally.
P.S. Just a comment on Bob’s post….I happen to agree, if the Republicans lose the mid term, it is all over for the Republic. I happen to feel we have a one party system in the U.S.., it’s called the Democratic/Republican Party. 20% extreme on the Left and 20% on the Right and most rational people in the middle and not represented.

  35. Like November 2016, November 2018 is a Flight 94 Election. You can do nothing and ride it into the ground at 500 knots or you can go for the cockpit and try to wrest control maybe saving yourself. Odds of the Constitution surviving if you dont vote for the Republicans, pretty much zero. Odds of saving the Constitution if you do vote Republican, not great, but better than zero.
While don’t like the current Republicans much the alternative is the Democratic Party. If you don’t know what that is think of the meme depicting two stick figures, one with a pistol to the others head. The caption: Statism, Ideas so good they have to be mandatory. The Repub’ are half a sandwich but its better than no sandwich. -RC21

  36. Alot of talk about a second “civil war” lately. I even hear it periodically discussed on John Batchelor’s radio show, and he’s not a shock jock… far from it. He says, “you can’t be certain you are in a civil war until afterwards, that is the case for every civil war going back 2000 years to the Romans.”

    https://audioboom.com/posts/7044933-new-american-civil-war-permission-for-violence-michael-vlahos-jhuworldcrisis-johns-hopkins

They discuss the Anarchist attack on the NY Metropolitan Republican Club, the “permission for violence” by the Democrat leadership.

    Here is the note the Anarchists (Antifa?) left behind;

Tonight, we put the Republican Party on notice, in defiance to the policy of mass misery they have championed.
The U.S. government has established concentration camps around the country for Latino people, shamelessly murdering black people, and continues its war machine that has slaughtered Muslim people with impunity for decades. The so-called “Land of the Free” leads the world in incarceration rates per capita, all the while profiteering in the new plantation within the prison walls.
While these atrocities persist unabated the Metropolitan Republican Club chose to invite a hipster fascist clown to dance for them, content to revel in their treachery against humanity. The Republican Party joined by their spineless partners in crime, the Democrats institute a policy of domestic and foreign terror felt the world over.
Our attack is merely a beginning. We are not passive, we are not civil, and we will not apologize. Those of good conscience and clear mind know this state of oppression cannot remain. The US fascist political system is one of the most savage institutions in history and we will combat it relentlessly until all are free of American barbarism.

  37. Thank God that most of us are more moderate Democrats, Republicans and Independents. It is a small minority of the radical left and radical right causing the problems and making the news. Much of it is that we have more media exposure everywhere we turn. Those 24/7 media outlets have to talk about something and many times it comes down to sensationalized politics.
