The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.

For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;

To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.

The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.

Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

Bless the Lord, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the Lord, O my soul.” – Psalm  (KJV)

12 As distant as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our rebellious acts from us.

    Footnotes:
[a] Psalm 103:1 God blesses us by giving us gifts. We bless God by praising him.
[b] Psalm 103:5 The meaning of this word is uncertain. It may mean your ornaments or soul, your jaw or mouth, or your old age. The Greek has your desires.

    1. Ma G,
I understand your trying to be helpful. Everytime you upload another “Jesus” to the Word that has already been provided, you cast doubt on what has been sufficient and whole. The version you provide is copyrighted. They profit in mens souls.
You continue to provide a leavened lump, leavening the whole lump. The bread of life.
The book of life has been leavened by these other bible perversions to render the Word as movable and not straight. A firm rock I stand. Jesus Christ is the way (one way) The Life (one D.N.A. Book of life) No man shall add or take away from this Book or he shall add the plagues of this book or remove his name from the Book of Life. (D.N.A)
A picture of this is the adding and taking away from the D.N.A. (books of life) from plants, animals, and people. “I will not dwell in temples made by hands” Genetic modification of all life created by God our Father is sin. Including the Book of Life, Word of God preserved by God forever.
The proof is in what they remove. The name of Jesus, the Blood, Fasting, Repentance. Ye shall not surely die. Ye shall be as gods… God did not say that He said this.
Go to Psalm 117. it is the shortest chapter in the Word of God and that chapter is the very center chapter of his Word and it is 33 words long (in the KJV)(not one jot nor tittle will pass away) as in the center of your body there 33 vertebrae and Jesus Christ is the head of the body.
There are 33 nerve branches to the right and 33 nerve branches to the left making the communication from Jesus Christ the Head of the church body 66. There are 66 books in the Word of God. What does Psalm 117 say? Endureth forever means it is under attack and being covered over. Seek and ye shall find.
It is everywhere in the KJV only. Here a little there a little.
      Read Mathew 18:21
Peter is asking about Genesis 7. read and find out what happened at the precise point.

Now 7×70=490 and the 490th chapter of the Word of God is Psalm 112 Jesus spoke to the point of forgiveness answering Peter and spoke to the purity of the KJV. The KJV was purified over 7 years.
There are many more, but I cannot list all examples of the perfection of the KJV here.

Genesis 1 will tell you what 1 means The Father the Son the Holy Ghost these three are one.
Genesis 2 then 3 (lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, pride of life or Father Son Holy spirit. who sits upon the throne of your heart? whom shall you serve?)

Genesis 4 principalities, powers, spiritual wickedness in high places, rulers of darkness of this world we war against with Mathew,Mark.Luke,John. (the Gospel of Jesus)

Genesis 5 is for our carnal death and new life in Christ Jesus for those that accept him. (accept Enoch for God took him)
      Genesis is for man.
I can’t prove to you this little observation but I just cry in my heart when I think of it. First there is no copyright (freely receive freely give).
      Then
1611 …a Message from our Father God (1) to man(6) through His Son Jesus(1) with the Holy Spirit(1) 1 John 5:7
In the KJV everything is in perfect order. Count the lists in the Word and see how they fit. They won’t in the profiting versions. It changed my walk with God in every way. Not only do I believe in Jesus..I believe him.
In Love (Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of our Father God)
      C. Burnett

      1. Dear C. Burnett,
The only reason that the King James Version of the Holy Bible has no copyright is that copyright law was not instituted in Great Britain until 1709, nearly 100 years after that version was first published.

I grew up on the King James Version, and I still have the Bible I received in 3rd grade (that was 60 years ago). I memorized my catechism passages in the King James Version. I would never say that it’s a bad translation. But if you want to read the Scriptures in their most pure version, you must go back to the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic languages, and beg museums and universities to let you see the most ancient parchments on which they were written and copied.

No translation of the Scriptures is perfect, because the condition of man is not perfect; however, God’s saving Word remains forever. Why cling to the King James Version? It was commissioned by King James, a government official, who chose its translators and paid them to do their work? Why not choose the Geneva Bible, whose translators did their work freely because they believed the English-speaking people deserved a Bible in their own language?

As for the issue of the copyright of modern translations, the copyright serves to protect you. Imagine what would happen if some evil group took this new translation, the Evangelical Heritage Version (or any other more modern translation), changed some key passages, turning their meaning, and had the book reprinted with these purposeful errors, but still calling it the Evangelical Heritage Version. Then what if they handed out free copies of this abomination to people and used it as a means to turn people away from God? Without copyright protection the original translators and publishers of this version would have no recourse against such a group.

Last, the reason I post the Saturday and Sunday quotes of the day in a more modern translation is out of love. Our English language has changed quite a bit in 400 years. To some folks, Elizabethan English is pretty much a foreign language. They just won’t read even a short passage if they don’t think it will make sense to them. Jesus Christ commissioned us to “make disciples of all nations.” Using a Bible translation young folks can understand helps us do this.

If you have any questions about the Evangelical Heritage Version, or if you’d like your own copy of it, please contact the translation team at wartburgproject.org.

  2. Amen.
Thank you Lord Jesus. Forgive me for indignation and grief resounding as righteous anger toward those that have not the love of the Truth. My soul is vexed with the iniquity of our nations people.
Those without understanding given over to strong delusion will be blind and deaf to the Word and will be as kids (baby goats) not know at which they stumble, going to the left into eternal hell fire reserved for the devil and his angels.

  3. My father was a fundamentalist Christian minister. He called the Bible “Perfect History”. My answer to him was, “which bible?”. Every Bible we have has been polluted by the hand of man. Each one interprets the Word of God just a little bit differently. It really doesn’t matter which one you read, which interpretation you favor, they are all slightly different. Do we go with the KJV? Do we go with the Geneva Bible, how about Scofield? Do we discount any of these because they might be different from one another? The modern interpretations, written in modern English, are we to ignore them because they are more modern and maybe a little easier to read? I would say the answer to that would be a resounding NO. Unless the modern interpretations directly refute, directly change the entire meaning of the thoughts that lead us to an understanding of God and Christ, the modern interpretations are or should be considered as just as valid, unless proven to be invalid.

Avalanche Lily provides verses from one of the King James versions (note that is a plural, there are many, it kind of depends on the publisher). Look at Bible Gateway, there are 60 different versions in English of the Word of God. Which of these are correct, all of them or none of them? Which one of these actually correctly provide the true, unfiltered, Word of God? The answer is none of them do. Each one has been filtered through the minds of men.

Speaking of the minds of men. Look at how man has influenced what we read in our Bibles. Most of the Bible we read didn’t start being recorded until 100 years after Christ’s death and resurrection. So neither Mathew, Mark, Luke, nor John were actually written by Mathew, Mark, Luke or John. A filter through the minds of men. The Councils of Nicaea, there were two of them, 328 AD and 363 AD, where groups of men got together to decide what was going to be taught. Think, “Oh no we can’t teach them that!” Again, the Word of God filtered through the minds of men. We get to the Geneva Bible, which preceded the King James version, then the King James translations from Aramaic, Greek, and Latin into what we call “Old English”. Again a filter through the minds of men. The key words are “filtered through the minds of men”.

My father, probably the most knowledgeable person I know on the Word of God, showed me where the translations of words in the KJV were mistranslated from Aramaic, Greek, and Latin. In his vast studies of the Bible he had learned to read Aramaic, Greek, and Latin. Thank God I inherited his library, lucky me. So the KJV is not a perfect translation of the Word of God, as it was filtered through the minds of men.

These are certainly truths we should all be able to agree on. God is perfect, man is not. The Bibles we have available are pretty good, but certainly not perfect. They were all filtered through the minds of men. Each version of the Bible is valid unless it contradicts God or makes His Word meaningless.

The point I’m making is this; I don’t think it is a good idea to criticize someone who provides a different version, interpretation, of the Word of God. It’s still the Word of God.

  4. My father-n-law (a reverend) died of Parkinson in a nursing home. He dedicated his life to his God. He told me ” I don’t worry about my future because God will provide”. He retired and had to move in with us because he had no pension.
My father died of Cancer, Mother died and couldn’t remember my name, and my brother died of Alcoholism.
Maybe he healed all the diseases when he was around, but the evidence shows that he is no longer around.
I respectfully suggest the readers stop their blind loyalty to a God has stopped caring about them. Look at what is happening around the world…..God has left the building.
We have learned christian values, we know the difference between right and wrong and we should continue following those standards of conduct. We need to realize we are on our own, we survive on our own.
