The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

“It is too true, however disgraceful it may be to human nature, that nations in general will make war whenever they have a prospect of getting any thing by it; nay, that absolute monarchs will often make war when their nations are to get nothing by it, but for purposes and objects merely personal, such as, a thirst for military glory, revenge for personal affronts, ambition, or private compacts to aggrandize or support their particular families, or partisans. These, and a variety of motives, which affect only the mind of the sovereign, often lead him to engage in wars not sanctioned by justice, or the voice and interests of his people.” – John Jay

Another one of the framers who got it right on foreign policy and avoiding entangling alliances. “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none.” Thomas Jefferson, March 4, 1801. What is so difficult to understand about this concept. Republicans don’t get it, Democrats don’t get it, the neocons and the neolibs refuse to understand this simple concept. Their combined depravity is appalling.

Do not forget the propagandists use of foreign “Boogeymen” to frighten the sheeple into acting against their best interests. Don’t forget the “Hun” ,”Japs”,”Krauts” and “Red Menace”(both Russian+ Chinese,North Koreans)
