The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

“So, I guess the answer to your question is very few people can bring off a novel of the future because it’s just so damn hard to make it look like the future.” – Jerry Pournelle

  1. TR, Thank you
Im afraid that if people haven’t been stocking, prepping already they are going to be out of luck. I have my supplies for my family, (Including a supply to use at mom and dads) and extras should my small community need help, and I topped off weeks ago, but I have NOT seen a mask to be had at the big box, hardware or farm store for a couple weeks now.
I was able to get 2 boxes of 10 each 3M N95’s on Amazon for the retail price and each customer had a limit of 2 boxes each but those aren’t even going to be here till 2nd week of March. At least it will be some extras.

I did get from Amazon some things that have not been mentioned (or maybe I didn’t see someone suggest)
    1. Disposable Gowns
    2. Hibiclens (Dr. told me to get for My spinal surgery in June)(I may have to put that off! LOL! Anyway it’s an antiseptic skin cleanser recommend for people with upcoming Surgery to keep the areas clean and avoid infection. As of yesterday it was pretty reasonable on Amazon so I picked up another gallon
    3. Bottles and wipes of Cavicide, (This is a surface disinfectant and decontamination product) Of course I have many gallons of regular bleach
    4. Packages of disposable shoe covers
    5. Disposable surgeons caps. (I have long hair and want to make sure it’s kept protected)

Anyway thought I’d share these purchases with you all in case anyone was looking for ideas

  2. Unfortunately I am in Illinois.
Home of the first case in this country!
That’s probably part of the reason why there are no masks available but no worries I stocked up on stuff weeks ago, I just check when I am out to see.
Can’t wait to get out of here in the next couple of years!!

    Jumbo, don’t forget the limes!!

    Stay safe & be smart
