Economics & Investing For Preppers

Here are the latest news items and commentary on current economics news, market trends, stocks, investing opportunities, and the precious metals markets. We also cover hedges, derivatives, and obscura. And it bears mention that most of these items are from the “tangibles heavy” contrarian perspective of JWR. (SurvivalBlog’s Founder and Senior Editor.) Today’s focus is on crypto volatility. (See the Cryptos section.)

News Tips:

Please send your economics and investing news tips to JWR. (Either via e-mail of via our Contact form.) These are often especially relevant, because they come from folks who particularly watch individual markets. And due to their diligence and focus, we benefit from fresh “on target” investing news. We often get the scoop on economic and investing news that is probably ignored (or reported late) by mainstream American news outlets. Thanks!

  1. Of course there is a market sell off. Did anyone really think there wouldn’t be? The good news is; there is a market sell off and not a crash. If the market corrects enough there won’t be a crash (or shouldn’t be a crash). Right now the market is suffering from over exuberance and there are only two possibilities; either a series of corrections like we are seeing or a sudden crash. Which would you prefer?

    1. Good points. And of course, the higher the market is, the greater the nominal corrections (800 points ain’t what it used to be).

Still stacking ASEs, but man, the premium mark-ups are getting pretty ridiculous. Nearly 25% above spot? *Sheesh*….
