FedEx Now Requiring Scans of ID to Deliver Gun Shipments

Steve W. wrote:

“I have run into a situation this past week.  In purchasing a firearm on GunBroker.com I had it transferred to my local FFL Dealer.  FedEx now requires, in addition to an adult signature for them to scan a government ID.  My dealer refused to have his diver’s license scanned, and I don’t blame him.  The driver left with the package.  It is supposed to be delivered yesterday but FedEx had “technical issues”.   It is being delivered today and there is an option that the driver can view the license and take the info off the ID to verify my dealer’s age.  We shall see if I get my gun.

From the company’s announcement:

‘FedEx Express and FedEx Ground will enable ID scanning functionality for deliveries of Adult Signature Required (ASR) packages in the U.S.'”
