  1. Hello, everyone, I would like your opinions, please.

Two days ago, on Sunday, Jan. 10th, Joyce posted a video link and short comment.

The man in the video says to prepare for martial law coming very soon.

What does martial law mean concerning everyday life? I get that the military is in charge but does that mean people stop living and stay locked in their homes?

I don’t have anyone to talk to about this kind of thing, except you here on the blog.

I will copy Joyce’s video link next.

Thank you for sharing your opinions and any advice, Krissy

    1. A lot depends on what edicts are written with the martial law. Certainly you would see curfews and travel restrictions. Restrictions on what and how much you can buy, quarantines, “non-essential” workers out of work and a whole lot of other options. Certainly gun rights will be restricted.

      1. BWL, Thank you for taking the time to reply. It means a lot. What may seem obvious to others about this, is new to me. Like LargeMarge, I would be fine if I stayed put but I need to travel out of state soon. I guess this is where the rubber meets the road, and training will be put to test.

Blessings to you and DW, Krissy

        1. I don’t know what state you are traveling to, but I’m willing to guess, some states may not uphold some or all martial law edicts. Use caution and if you have anything that would indicate why you are traveling (wedding invitation), keep it handy. Most importantly, pray, trust the Lord and follow His direction. If you feel comfortable doing so, post a comment when the time comes so we can pray for you.

    1. Krissy,
      Good grief!, what a windbag!

Irregardless, after a lot of getting ready to begin, video starts at 4:29

      *****

      My thoughts about my situation:

      Q:
      * how much would Martial Law impact me?

      A:
      * zero-zero-zero for at least six months.

We operate a small organic teaching farm near the outskirts of Eugene Oregon.
      * We have no heavy equipment to confiscate.
      * Each of the thirty or so folks here qualify as ‘essential workers’… each of us is extremely dedicated to the farm, and would take it personal if we came up missing.
      * Our propane is topped, our chillers are loaded with butchered meats and packaged vegetables ready for market.
      * We have multiple sources of drinking water.
      * We have 24/7/360° security… and we are surrounded by neighbors with an interest in keeping our community quietly peaceable.

Sure, with enough government agents, the government agents can bulldoze over anything they choose to keep their tummies full and their vehicles operational.
But running the cost-vs-benefit analysis might convince them to not be so greedy… their surly and ill-tempered high-n-mighty attitude works as long as the little people have something to lose.

Martial Law crosses the ‘civilized society’ line, activating “the government agents vs deplorables’ contest… and the government agents have a lot to lose.
Maybe you noticed… the government agents are all about getting more marbles (pensions and power), and at the First Sign Of Resistance, they fold.
Every. Example. In. History. Proves. This.

Now, Yellowstone barfing or the Cascadia subduction doing its promised dance or an asteroid skidding through… well, that would make the government agents more irrelevant than they already are, wouldn’t it?

Oops… proofing this, I wonder if I am turning into the windbag I am poking fun at!

      s,
      a vastly amused LM

      1. LargeMarge, I laughed out loud because you said how I felt. Yes, please just get to the point. With that said, I am grateful for the heads up.

I wonder if people truly believe this will happen? I sure hope it doesn’t.

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Glad you could be amused. Blessings on your day, Krissy

  2. Oh! My! Goodness! The writer that wrote the Macleans article about a post trump town in Idaho…..really, really, really tested my Christian convictions.
    TeresaSue

    1. Wow, you weren’t kidding.
I would have thought that article was parody, written in the form of a pearl-clutching, SJW characature. I kept waiting to read the punchline, but it never came.
These people are beyond condescending. They are truly evil and look forward to our persecution.

    2. I couldn’t even finish it. The sheriff in the article stated that the USA is a republic, and the author comments that it “was plainly an odd thing to say”….huh?? What…the…WHAT? And somebody’s editor approved this? I knew that civics and government and the like were being grossly watered down in (public) schools, but this is ignorance beyond what I even imagined.

But I’m probably just being ignorant and oppressive because of my demographics and beliefs, again, huh. /snark

      1. I know Bear, if my husband had a silver dime : ) for every time I yelled at the tv “WE ARE NOT A DEMOCRACY, WE ARE A REPUBLIC!” he would be a very rich man, lol. : )

        1. TeresaSue …Bear…Ghost00… I could not finish the article… I felt blood pressure rising and Christian principles being challenged…I did want to see for myself … as each minute / hour / day unfolds I am realizing I MUST stay in the WORD and it’s TRUTH… may The LORD guide us all as the coming days are filled with much uncertainty

          1. RCB5472TN, Ghost00, TeresaSue and Bear, I concur with each of you.

The, in your face, derision was shocking, to say the least.

May the Lord give us wisdom, Krissy

      2. My friend, Mary, shared this today: 37 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! –Matthew 23:37 NRSV

        Who among us is willing?

        Carry on

    3. I wanted to make sure I had not failed the same way I was just accusing the public schools of, and it had been awhile (breaks for all of the holidays!) since we discussed civics, so I just had to go check.

“Hey [6yo], what kind of government does the United States have?”

He reluctantly looked up from decoding his secret message in his puzzle book. “Republic!…ummm, an’ democracy.”

So we’re doing okay here, at least. 😉

  3. Also on this day in 1888, a day that started out as a comfortable day in the Dakota territory ended with a powerful blizzard that killed over 235 people many of them children as they tried to get home from school. The blizzard became known as the children’s blizzard.

  4. This is a good day to improve readiness. Took DW on her first Ebike training familiarization. Went well.

Now we are getting takeout Chinese from our favorite place…. before governors Covid edicts permanently bankrupts and closes the business.

You should see our county. People are so happy at the prospect of vaccination that they are outside enjoying themselves, even though very few got the shots.

The real fascists are mobilizing the guard and requiring LEOs to guard their reconvening of the socialist left state legislature.

    It’s just starting, folks.
