Just go collect them when the owner is at work.

Or at night, when the owner is sleeping. The police have a lot of experience doing this to non-violent pot smokers.

But for some reason, there’s this strange belief that the police are going to send a letter saying “We will be arriving at your front door at 6:30 pm next Wednesday evening to confiscate your guns. Please be prepared to surrender them to us. Thank you for your compliance”.
